I don’t mind healing and help carrying a group of alts through LFR. As long as people aren’t AFK and can take super basic feedback and apply some of it, I enjoy the “challenge”. I’ve had a few alts fall behind and really benefit from LFR so I return the favor when I feel like it. If it gets too bad, I just leave and take my deserter buff because it is LFR after all.
I mean…
So you just run normal and heroic and you are weekly capped on 3 crest types (carved, runed, gilded). Blizzard will never allow that lol
Bosses should however drop enough crest for an upgrade per kill.
We have that now, it’s called Story Mode. Skips you right to Queen with a bunch of NPCs.
I got crit from all that, can you break it down for me.
I really would like to raid cuz i had fun when i did, but the whole benching thing, raid discord, kidna drives me away
we have them in Anniversary. right now. literally right now.
It handles it fine.
Just stop adding glow effects to every aoe spell and we’ll be fine.
Someone has never done or thought about M Kyveza and it shows. That’s a well-designed fight that would be so drastically different with 10 or 30 players it’s basically ruined.
Remove instance lockouts after HOF, keep the 20.
Tripling it is about what they’d need to do to make it viable to maintain gilded cap from raid only for basically everyone outside the world top 20 or so.
would also allow crest catchup from raiding to be a thing for alts that get capped later in the season.
Not saying you are wrong but I don’t think you realize how absurd that would be.
If we triple the current raids crest a full heroic clear would give you.
270 runed and 90 gilded. You would hit the weekly gilded cap from 2 heroic bosses.
I feel like if the solution is to give raiders more crest than their main can realistically use then the whole crest system should be scrapped.
I know some people long for the WoD days of raid logging from day 1 of a new season but blizzard is never going to go back to that.
Given that you can only clear the raid once per week on a given difficulty, 270 for a full clear sounds about right. Allow people who are behind the cap or started the season later to catch up to cap at a reasonable rate without the current system of tedious M+ grinding.
So what if people cap out on crests super fast?
Why does it matter?
It’s like people arguing valorstones should exist because it will make people play more.
Exactly why do they even matter at that point? Just get rid of them entirely.
Because raid isn’t the only way to play.
That doesn’t answer my question at all.
I mean I plan on doing very minimal m+ in season 2. A full clear of heroic and maybe a mythic boss or two with t11 delves should be hitting the gilded cap every week and then some.
As it stands now, 30(heroic)+20(2 bosses mythic)+18(delves)=68, which is less than the cap.
Trying to keep the newbs alive in LFR is one of the things I enjoy in retail.
This is completely ignoring crest conversion and the delvers bounty map which is 3 gilded.
90 runed = 30 gilded
T11’s also give 6 runed per run.
Worst case scenario is you get 71 gilded a week until you get the achievement but once you have it the excess you get from converting the useless runes + additional mythic bosses you are progressing you should hit the weekly cap relatively quickly.
If you decide to do the bare minimum of 1 m+ vault slot thats 16 additional crest which brings the total to 87 gilded a week completely ignoring crest conversion which honestly is not the end of the world.
I am ignoring crest conversion, since that (realistically) won’t turn on for a month or so into the season (or longer if you don’t have the steady supply of M+ gear to actually upgrade, or not being able to full clear heroic very early on).
You only need to max out champion gear which honestly unless extremely unlucky doesn’t sound that bad. You’d be limited to the 6 upgrades per week completely ignoring items you get from heroic clear, mythic bosses vault which will save your crest as well to convert later.
At the rate the cap goes up, if upgrading champion gear is your only source, that’s 11 weeks before crest upgrading unlocks.
Assuming you only upgrade hero 2 gear or better in every slot, that’s still week 6 (end of week 5 if you use the free enchanted runed).
So depending on RNG, that puts you somewhere between week 5 and 12 to unlock the crest upgrading.
