I think I see the problem. Even worse, I predicted it

“Do the harder content to get the better gear.”

Why does it have to be e-sports difficulty, though?

Darkshore Warfront Cycle-y = Heroic BOD in item level. Yet, not in difficulty.

Darkshore Warfront = LFR BOD/Uldir in difficulty.

The Elitists are shoving people into their content and wonder why people are quitting in droves. It’s Cataclysm or WOD (Especially WOD, screw that particular flavor of “Raid or Die”) all over again, in other words, but without queuing.

I have some suggestions for longer-term goals that mean hard content is left to rot in dust or vastly nerfed.

Most are suggestions in my post history if you care to necro.

There should be a paradigm shift in reward vs. difficulty. If it truly is the sport of the kill, as proponents of the current system say, then make it so. Anything above 415/425/Mythic Raid/TF Cap should retain the current e-sports nonsense, everything else gets nerfed to the point where it can be PUG’d or queued and socialization is optional rather than mandatory like it is now.

If it has to be a different realm type, then so be it.

Blizzard should stop tuning content assuming maximum player efficiency. They used to back in Wrath, but stopped during and after Cataclysm, which is why MOP/Legion rank slightly lower than Wrath.

Take the best parts of Wrath, MOP, and Legion and work from there. JP/VP, the above idea(s), etc.

For so long as “Hard (Premade Group) Content or Die” remains, WoW will die Wildstar’s death. Change my mind.

The “Premade Group Content or Die” is only if you want to gear up QUICKLY.

Those willing to wait, better things to do, hack access to the 400 gear via assorted things that happen over time. It just takes a lot longer, and, no, it’s not top tier gear content. (Cue “don’t need top tier gear to do not-top-tier content”.)

When 8.2 hits, all of the gear bumps up again. We should also be getting a catchup mechanic for alts.

I use placeholder values assuming the current tier.

Hopefully 8.2 will redeem BFA regarding this.

WoW has not been raid or die for a very long time. WoD is an outlier because it went live at like 30% completion and they barely added anything until Legion prepatch.

People are not quitting in droves because of lacking non-raid content. It’s more likely due to heavy-handed rng and mediocre class design.

This game needs more socialization and accountability, not less.

If what you’re saying is that you want current raids to be soloable, with rewards appropriate for single player content, I guess I wouldn’t be strongly opposed. I disagree that the lack thereof has brought about the current state of the game, however.

Old and tedious, I agree.

Socialization should be optional and fun. Not mandatory.

Did you miss the “MMO” in the “MMORPG”?

Worst suggestions ever. You want to turn this into a solo rpg even more.

Advice: Demonic Apetite is useless, Blind Fury is the way to go if you’re playing Demonic.

Grouping is there because you need to group up to take big bad bosses down. Not because they have some “socializing agenda”.

The RPG in RPG is nonexistent outside of RP realms. Character progression feels neutered outside of gear.

I actually swapped to a Felblade/Demon Blades combo because I got a Shoulder with Furious/Thirsting.

What is this meme? Why do people pull out the e-sports comment when Mythic has existed for quite a while and Heroic existed before that? Top tier content has always been a thing.

Blizz gave casuals a decent way to get better gear. But top end gear is going to come from hard group content. As it should. This isn’t a single player game. You don’t need Mythic raid gear to solo stuff.

Elitists aren’t shoving people anywhere. If people want Mythic raid gear, then they join the groups to get it.

You want end game progression gear? Then get into a group and get that gear through hard work with a team-- the way it’s meant to be.

You want high end gear for soloing? Then you’re playing the wrong game.

Top-tier content requires Premade Groups.

Hence the meme.

Shoving people in content they don’t want to do to progress their character is why the game is dying.

Telling me I’m playing the wrong game is why Wildstar died.

How are people being shoved into content they dont want to do? A +10 key is not hard to do if you have half a brain. Most people can kill a 1 - 3 mythic bosses without a lot of effort. E-sports difficulty applies to three chesting +18 keys and getting top 100 mythic raiding. And you don’t even get better gear for doing that. This entire topic is a joke.

Sure. I can do it. But Premade Groups is literally the only thing getting in my way, either making or joining.

That’s why they have things called guilds. Being able to make premade groups is a luxury afforded to us. It’s not meant for mythic progression or super high keys. If you can manage do them that way great. But it’s much, much easier as a guild.

I mean yea, if you really want to kill the game. I’m not a mythic raider. My guild isn’t a mythic raiding guild. We raid heroic, and it presents a fun challenge for us. If they nerfed all content below mythic into the ground, as you suggest, that would discourage a lot of people from even doing that content.

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand where this is coming from… Respectfully, from my perspective the whole OP’s post felt like the opposite of reality.

I guess digging up that old thread where you wanted to quote me calling you a troll from 6 months ago, you decided to remake this type of thread.

Harder content rewards harder gear. It isnt e-sports difficulty.

E-sports is M+ for 18s, 19s, 20s. You don’t have to do those to get the best gear.

10s aren’t e-sport difficulty.

The game is dying because it isn’t FF14 or GW2 or ESO.

Those games are far more accessible than WoW as of 8.1.5 is.

Maybe 8.2 can shut me up. Maybe not. I’m hoping for Thursday.

No it isn’t, and no they aren’t. I’ve play gw2 and eso. They both bored me so much I couldn’t play more than a month or two on them at most. I’ve stayed with WoW for years.

How is WoW not accessible?

Because WoW apparently is going backwards in time regarding grouping being mandatory.

Eventually we’ll be back in the days of EQ1 where it truly was. And I don’t want that.

That, pretty much, is how Wildstar died.
