I have never been much for decorations. If I have a shelf, it is holding something I use, not just some tchotchke.
I do have a mug on my desk. I just made some green tea.

omg Goonies never die! I love that movie so much. Some movies are just gifts from the gods, and Goonies is one of 'em.

Our desk is about 12 feet long - a floating desk made out of cedar wood that my husband built. It is gorgeous and I love it. It currently has four monitors and all the normal accessories one would have for a computer or computer(s) in our case xD. On my little corner of the desk I have my speakers/monitor/keyboard/mouse. I do not like mess or clutter, gives me a legit headache. I want everything clean and tidy.
I always have a candle for ambience. My current candle is a Woodwick - Fireside. There might be a pic of it somewhere in the murloc discord I only left btw bc I am weird and I do not like being in discords with a lot of ppl 
Adjacent to this room is our living room with vaulted ceilings and large wood beams. We have oak flooring and a new couch that is gigantic. About 17 ppl could fit on it comfortably for the last birthday party I had for one my kids. I said at the store I wanted the biggest couch they offered 
My husband just put up stone in one corner from floor to ceiling and ripped up some of the oak floor and stained the concrete for our new wood burning stove. The living room feels so cozy and like a cabin.

Better for the core. And my desk is full of plants. It is tidy. It has a cup of coffee on it.
I have an Edgar Allen Poe mug that I adore.
Dry streets, with a clear mountain view.

I like this thread! This is my humble abode. There’s a basket hanging on the left side of the desk I generally fill with snacks and candy. Desk for human, cat tower for cat. Honestly everything for cat. She has half a dozen napping spots, one of which is my chair. TV is on a stand just to the right with the Switch.
The rest of my bedroom is mostly black bookshelves loaded with fantasy books, anime wall scrolls, and you see a glimpse here, but there’s orange and purple Halloween lights strung up all over the room. It looks really cool at night when I turn the main light off. Almost everything is either black or colorful in my place.

my desk is perfect for my size room, but lacks space for things to be on it XD
what space there is is taken up by 2 24 inch monitors, keyboards, mouse, with enough room for my Xbox controller / tv remote, and a bottle of water >.<

I do too, I love the sharing. I love the personable glimpses into people’s lives. This is the kind of thing I live for. I’m a deeply personable, intimate sort of person. I find even the most mundane personal details fascinating.
Someone could text me a pic of the new shampoo they’re trying or the sink of dirty dishes they have to wash or just whatever, and I’d love it. Even the weird stuff like the dirty dishes would be endearing in its own way, because it’s real. Just plain ol’ real life stuff is what does it for me. It’s the sharing itself that is meaningful.

My Office Depot put together L-Shaped desk is in a corner of a converted bedroom to office,which also has a doorway into the garage. My homemade PC is under the desk,my 27" monitor on the desk,to the right of my keyboard on top of the desk is a pile of opened mail/cable modem, between my keyboard and monitor are a magnifying glass,a pile of business cards, some home depot receipts and misc. scraps of paper with some logins/passwords/phone numbers/todo lists. To the left of my monitor is a pen/pencil/scissor holder. The room has a double window that used to look out at the water in the backyard, but that view is long gone,now it just looks into an enclosed porch. Also in this room, in the opposite corner from my desk is another desk with a chair, which hasn’t been used since she died of breast cancer about 2 years ago. As far as what I am wearing, pretty much the same thing I wear almost every day this time of year(snow here yesterday), jeans/sneakers/flannel shirt,and I am pretty sure my socks match. I am drinking coffee from one of those red plastic cups that people usually drink beer from.

Looks beautiful in my mind, and the scent is lingering - I always have a candle too. Woodwick is a good brand. Benevolence Rose and Sandalwood currently for me.
My files, notebooks, and research for my book are stacked on a side table to the right and to the left is my craft drawers and easel. I have a large,sculpted cut out mug I made years ago when I had a kiln and pottery wheel to hold all my colored pencils. Canvases stacked behind me.
Knitting happens in the living room but the yarn stash is in here:
I also have a room I carved out that is my gypsy room ; teals, pinks, blues, rust and burgundy- looks like the inside of a gypsy caravan. Reading, tarot, spiritual magic happens in there.
Maybe my books will get published. 
I do love your couch though!

I live in the city so no woods, but there are streets. It’s quiet for once.
WoW does bring many different people together, and that is pretty great. When do we get to see the Liadariel set up though?

I wish I would have given you some hearts instead of you deleting the comments and thinking I was upset. In the heat of the moment, I smiled last night at your kind words. I can handle myself but it felt really nice to have someone defend me in WoW, haven’t felt that in a long time from someone in the game.
Oh snap, what am I wearing? Am I at goldshire rn? jk jk lmao. I’m in shorts bc Texas can’t make up its mind on the weather and rockin’ a blizz hogger shirt I got for Christmas and Fuzzy socks ftw! Just got a bunch for christmas and ur missing out on life w/o fuzzy socks. Soooo cozy. Also, I really wish blizz did class/spec shirts. I would buy ALL of the might of the grizzlemaw shirts and ask for forgiveness later to hubby 
As far as coffee cups, rae dunn. But, I really want to replace everything and get “camping” mugs/plates/everything.
I have tamales in the oven that are about ready and two out of four kids are randomly yelling now and getting sweaty so I better see what’s up.

Thank you all for sharing these real bits of our lives. Maybe we will remember when we see an avatar in front of us in game … their coffee in a plastic party red cup, their mouse, the solid but fleeting memory of this connection. Oh, and I forgot to mention the houseplant on the bookshelf next to me I’m trying desperately not to kill.
