I been leveling alts up to 50 in legion ,warlords and MoP because I enjoy leveling in those areas way better then shadowlands. Anyone else feel the same or you guys love everything about the zones in shadowlands?
No offence but 2 expansion from now . Shadowlands will never be something I pick in chromie timeline to level up alts .

The SL zones aren’t that bad. They’re just a bit bland.
You can’t go to SL until level 48 anyway so you have to level alts somewhere else. I like Legion, though the next alt will be BfA to unlock the allied races.
I probably wouldn’t timewalk to the campaign questline, but picking Threads of Fate and leveling by running side quests is little different than questing in other expansions. I enjoyed Maldraxxus the most, but all the SL zones are decent as far as normal questing.
SL might be alright because you can just turn your brain off and stay on the rails to get done.
If they buff the XP right, the linearity of this expansion might be a nice and efficient way to level.
I just hate how they’re separated. SL doesn’t feel like a new realm or part of the world because every zone including the main city is it’s own instance. I feel like I’m playing a mobile game lol

What blizzard should be worried about that I am doing old content because I am bored with the lack of current content.

Nah, I’m in the same boat. The game is wonderful until I hit 50, and then I have to decide if I want to suck it up and have less fun for a short while to get to 60, or park it at 50 and start something else over.
The completionist in me usually sees it through to the end, but Shadowlands is the new Outlands for me. It’s an absolutely loathsome experience.
The best comparison I have is that Shadowlands feels like the beginning of FFXIV feels when leveling. FFXIV starts sucky and just keeps getting better. WoW starts great and gets worse. But I still feel more comfortable playing WoW due to familiarity with the zones.
The past month I have been having more fun going back getting old reputations and achievements more than the current content.
I really like the Shadowlands zones. Can’t speak too much for BfA as I only did the Horde ones and only really liked Nazmir.
Having said that MoP, WoD, and Legion were all better.
Most unpopular opinion ever: the only SL zone that I really love…is the Maw.
I mean, if we could roll back to MoP I’d be extremely happy…but that is not likely to occur so why both hopin’.
I love Maldraxxus. It’s a bit weird in an afterlife…but holy crap do I dig the zone.
As of late on my alts I have been actually going into original vanilla zones rather than specific later expansions. This is more for something different rather than fast levelling as running alts through the same exact content each time can be a drag unless I really enjoy the zones/story. Legion has worked for me on a few too.

And what expansion did you start playing in?
I only ask as most prefer where they started and the expansions shortly after. Creatures of habit we are, what is most familiar tends to be preferred.
Obviously you aren’t since Classic is a thing.
Holy catfish that is unpopular.

The existence and popularity of classic says no.
The big mistake I made in Shadowfail was choosing threads of fate on a few of my characters before trying it on one first. It’s a lot slower going from 50 to 60 using threads imo. But it’s kind of sad when part of the playerbase prefers hanging out in previous expansions(old content) more than doing the newer stuff. Mop was the last expansion where I actually enjoyed this game. I mean Legion was ok, because of the cool iconic weapons in the lore of this game we got to use, but that’s when the game started to become just way to grindy imo.

I always liked the Maw…but it’s gradually become one of my favorite things Blizzard has ever done.
The phasing issue is horrible but I’ve actually randomly met people out in the world and teamed up with them to do stuff I can’t do on my own…as if this was actually a MMORPG.
Leveling through an expansion vs leveling and playing in it while it is current content are two wildly different experiences.
Leveling through BFA zones with the Chromie Time was very enjoyable. Doesn’t mean I miss BFA end-game.
