Aside from WoD, I prefer the older expansions.

I leveled my Shaman from 51-60 with Archaeology. I did the opening Maw questline and swapped to Threads of Fate. Then I used my Dalaran Hearthstone and began to farm old Archaeology achievements in Legion and MOP zones. Solid exp per survey too when you’re rested.
I’ve never called an expansion “bad” this early into it. I’ve always waited until they were near the end to have a real opinion on them, but Shadowlands is a big exception. This expansion is trash. From the lack of communication between the devs and players, to the tediousness of navigating through the terrain in each zone, the ridiculous one-shots in PVP, the cancer that is LFG, the lack of class balancing in PVE and PVP. I’m pretty sure the list is actually endless, I just don’t want to waste time and energy thinking about it too much.
I would hazard a guess that the number of people who prefer this expansion over the previous ones is a very, very tiny amount.
Yes, I have had much more fun and loved Legion and other expansions before it significantly more than I do this one or B for A. I thought about quitting WoW entirely last expansion because it was so disappointing, if beautiful to look at.
But my friends still play, and its something to do with them.

I prefer Classic zones over everything by an absolute mile too, but frankly its just because of nostalgia.
I just replayed through Duskwood again last night for the first time and man it really makes me emotional.
I must say though, I do adore Bastion as a leveling zone.
I also just did a 50-60 bastion only challenge and it was quite interesting!

Your not alone Levansa. I too find more enjoyment in older content than I do in current stuff. Eastern Kingdoms and Legion being the two main ones for me. Legion because of the class quest campaign, and Eastern Kingdoms (Cataclysm) because of the zones, stories, npc’s, and dungeons I like doing with random players. I often find new friends from them.
I do like that with Shadowlands any expansion is possible with Chromie time now though.

They can choose to release a solid patch with 9.1 or to continue down the path they are currently on.
What do you expect to change with the leveling process in 9.1?
Heard several people say the same thing. Imo they should let folks switch back to the campaign, or storyline mode before they hit a certain level like 52, or maybe 55. Heck make it a gold sink. Make it cost a couple thousand gold to switch back idk.
