I still CANT decide, ALLIANCE OR HORDE

I was originally going horde 100% ,But now i see i am thinking of going of Either. I have not played Alliance in Vanilla for much. I played horde mostly,. and its nostalgia, but the Alliance side would be NEW to me. Was the alliance side really fun in Vanilla?

I want to main a Hunter or Mage, and i still cant decide on which faction.

I need help from previous Vanilla players to decide Faction.

I want to go where ever the bg q will be shortest… But no way to tell unfortunately.

Also consider where you will be leveling and spending time. For me I like alliance cities much more. Although I do enjoy mulgore as a whole.

If I was to go mage I’d definitely go gnome, I like their story and they seem the intellectual type. For hunter… Tauren because they seem in touch with nature. But hey you have to play the character. So pick whichever you can enjoy looking at in gear the most

Pick which ever has the better leveling zones in your opinion.

I was purely Horde on a PvP server up until there was a server merge that allowed me to create an Alliance character in the same world (I think that was in WotLK). I think it would be interesting to play Alliance this time around, plus I love Shadowmeld.

On the other hand the Horde racials are hands down better for PvP for two of the classes I want to play (Mage and Warlock), so I am torn myself.

I really need to figure this out soon.

I say go for what will give you new experience! I am strongly inclined to try Horde for this reason, as I never leveled a Horde toon past maybe 20 back in vanilla days, so I have all the quests etc. to do for the first time. I did every single Alliance quest I could back in the day, and at least saw parts of every raid, so going Alliance in Classic would only be revisiting old territory, except for class quests and gameplay (assuming I change).

Gnomes are pretty good for Mage & Warlock. For Hunter I strongly recommend Dwarf—if you do go Night Elf, go female. The males just look so ridiculous with their 4 mile wide shoulders and their grimaces of terminal constipation.

Alliance brah

As an altoholic, both sides have great early leveling content and their own iconic quests/mobs. No matter which faction you choose, they’re’ll be things you’ll regret not being able to see for yourself.

Remember that rested XP gives you big bonuses to XP and it takes over a hundred hours to go from 1-60. I say make a hunter on one faction and a mage on the other, especially if you are going to play on a non-PvP server. Even if you’re rolling on PvP servers, they’re top tier solo farmers, so you’ll be fine. Playing 2 very different classes on separate factions will help stave off burnout by keeping things fresh, plus won’t be missing out on anything.

Great advice here. I’m planning horde priest and ally druid right out of the gate… which is still a painful, excruciating 28 days away :triumph:

A gnome is the best PvP and PvE race in the game for mage. Hands down.

No need to worry about “inferior” racials if you’re thinking of playing mage.

I’ve never played gnome (at least not back then). I can see them being the best PvE race maybe, but I don’t see how they are the best PvP. Their snare/root break seems really useful, but then they suffer against fears. I played an undead for both Mage and Warlock in Vanilla/TBC. That fear break/immunity was amazing, and I never had issues against melee (on my mage). I have a hard time believing anything is better than undead for Mage in Vanilla/Classic based on that experience.

If it’s even a question for you then you simply don’t deserve to be Horde, because Horde!

I am biased because the Classic Alliance races bore me to tears and i have never liked Stormwind. That being said, i love more of the Alliance leveling zones than on Horde and Ironforge and Darnassus are awesome. Still, going to spend a lot more time looking at my character than the environs and Horde easily has the more interesting race selection and their leveling zones are still really good. Plus-Shaman>>>>>>>>Paladin.

Allance rules , Horde drools

Go with alliance. Horde doesn’t need wafflers.

Which side does your heart belong to?

Imagine a scene, perhaps you are travelling down the path in Stranglethorn Vale and suddenly you see two figures fighting.

Locked in mortal combat, only one can survive…
A human paladin, shiny plate armor, long blonde hair, face glowing with righteous fervor, fresh from training in Stormwind Cathedral.
Opposing him an orc shaman from Durotar…savage in appearance, thick with muscle, raised in a hard land yet deeply connected with his spiritual side, loyal to tribe and warleader.

Who do you relate to, who do you feel your heart go out to, who do you mourn if they fall?

If faction isn’t a top priority the it boils down to Paladin vs Shaman.

1 will not be your faction, not playable if you are on PvP server.
1 will be your enemy to have to contend with,if you are on a PvP server

If you really can’t decide, base your decision entirely on whether you like stormwind or orgrimmar more. You’ll be spending a lot of time in those cities, and if you don’t like one of them, it will make all of classic feel stale.

Source: was forced to play my disliked faction on a wotlk server (friends voted and alliance lost) and I could never really get into it because orgrimmar is hot garbage.

Alliance if you want PvE progression, horde if you prefer PvP
Horde class are generally better in PvP, not by much, also horde used to be the more hardcore faction back in the days when people started, not sure its gonna be the case this time as most hardcore raiders are going to go alliance. blessings of kings win the game…

Depends on your outlook of the game.
Pure PvP? Go Horde. Pure PvE? Go Alliance. A mix of both? Choose based on whether you’re min/maxing, lore, and easy of dungeons/leveling zones.

Blessings are nice on Alliance side but I feel like the annoyance of Shamans will greater than those of Paladins.

Not having to fight shamans is a good enough reason to stay horde.
