I have wanted to play a rogue for years, but leveling one to 60 got so frustrating 4 or 5 times that i gave up. Haven’t tried in SL yet.
I do not M+. I do not raid. I solo 99% of the time. ZM, Korthia, WQ’s, Covenant stuff, Torghast and other single player stuff\ like MOG’s and mounts.
As a BM Hunter and Fury Warrior main with ilvl in the 290 I can solo just about anything in the zones I mentioned above.
I do have a 60 boost so I think I will boost a Rogue and then deck it out with around 250ilvl to get started between stuff I buy off Auction and other stuff. Will I have a problem soloing ZM/Torghast etc still? Do I need to get around 280? just don’t know what I am in for and don’t want to waste a boost if I hate it and can’t really solo stuff.
For solo? Absolutely. Though, if you level, there’s a weak-feeling spot in the early 50’s. But once you get your covenant gear, your good. If you boost, you can go right to Zereth Mortis and get the 226 vendor gear.
Yeah as I stated, I can get to around 250ilvl right off the bat. Since ZM is always crowded in my servers I wont need to solo those mOB’s, but will need to solo most in Korthia. What ilvl should I shoot for as a Rogue to run Korthia solo effectively, if it is even possible.
Your line of questioning is a little odd considering that you have supposedly done these zones before. The ilevel requirements are about the same from class to class. Just go to ZM on your boosted toon, get the 226 vendor gear, and then, if you really feel the need to do Kortia/Maw, you’ll be able to. I’m not sure where the confusion is. Or, are you look to do everything as a completionist, in the order it was releasesd? If so, then I’d say it might be a little difficult, but not entirely undoable. You might have an issue with rares, though, if all you have is the covenant set, especially without help.
DPS classes are the best to boost, because of longer queue times for levelling dungeons. Hopefully you have enough cinders/flux to buy cinders and soul ash for the rogue with your mains so you don’t have to do torghast with the rogue.
The problem is the expansion is almost over, and gearing up a fresh character is rough.
I’d say just hold off on that character until november, or have it ready for the next expansion with mediocre gear that you’ll replace while levelling to 70.
Rogue is good for levelling in war mode because of stealth/vanish, but the experience boosts are over, so it might be worth boosting if you don’t want to spend the time required to level.
I’m a solo rogue. I do pretty well in ZM, only needing a bit of help on the bigger rares. Get the cypher buff Toxicaliac, it goes a long way in boosting how much damage you do.
Though I am curious why you say you’ll be spending time in Korthia. If you can get to ZM, nothing in Korthia will be an upgrade for you.
290 ilevel means you must do some kind of raiding or m+. World quest rewards stop at 236 in ZM and lower in SL, and ZM rewards top at 252. I’m not sure how you get to 290 without doing group content. I suppose you could spend millions to buy the 2 max ilevel BOEs that are available to each armor type. But regardless, you can certainly solo as a rogue at that ilevel.
Play Assassination Rogue with Master Poisoner, Leeching Poison and slap embalmer’s oil on both weapons. Craft the Dashing Scoundrel Legendary and you have a ton of passive health recovery.
While Outlaw right now is the golden child of the rogue specs, Assassination can be a smooth playstyle and you do really good single target. And in Torghast Assassination destroys runs once you get Red Ink you just melt packs by hitting fan of knives, envenom, fan of knives, envenom.
