Just curious, how many hours did you play before starting HW? I know they trimmed the MSQ, but wondering how much. Did you finish ShB just in a few weeks as a new player? It took me months to get there.
No tyā¦ played ff14 for a month years ago already. That is one of the most boring MMOs I think I have ever played, and iāve been around the MMO industry for 20 years.
I already muted one of these today, stick in one thread for the helpful tip.
I have tried it about 4 times over the last two years, each time lasting around a week. If I was to play another MMO while waiting for SLs, it wouldnāt be FFXIV. I would probably fire up SWToR or dive back into The Division 2 instead.
Been there. Done that.
Even Ion canāt make WOW as bad as FFXIV.
I wish I had a comparable game to go to, but this is it. If there was, the players would have quit WOW a long time ago.
There was a game that came very close to pulling me away from WoW. I loved playing Aion Online, it was my first Korean themed MMO and it was awesome. But at it was pretty much entirely about a faction war between two different races, once the faction balanced started to slide so did the game. Eventually it was so bad that they sent GMs out to help the under dog faction during fort sieges.
When Classic came out, I tried it. To my surprise, I really enjoyed it, so much that I played it for a whole year. Then I came back to BFA, which I also enjoy. Classic was different enough to feel like a āgame changeā from WoW ā at least to me.
Near the end of most WoW expansions, Iāve tried some other MMO. In every case I liked the game but tired of it within 2-5 months and came back to WoW.
ESO has a lot of good things, but I got stuck. In most quest lines, the last quest was many times harder than the others. So you could solo 4 quests (with no rewards), then had to find at least 1 other player to do the last quest in the line. Over and over. And there were big problems (instancing of the last quest, for example) making it hard to group with someone for the last quest. So itās a good game if you get in a guild and can always find helpers ā but a terrible game to PUG.
Iām an altoholic, and I got several ESO characters up to 14-24. FInally I gave up. The frustration didnāt seem to get any better. I canāt comment on the endgame (I didnāt get that high) but WoW is a much better questing and leveling-in-dungeon-groups game.
I wouldnt say its the best ever but as a life long fps player its quite solid. It has shockingly tight gunplay, far more than I had expected. I can see it being grindy but im personally more interested in shooting things in the face than the stuff in their pockets.
i played FF14 for 2 years on the side of wow. its content is just better released. Raids a little weird but thats probably because im use to WoW raids.
ESO is also a GREAT game to play, you dont pay a subscription fee unless you intend on playing it for crafting or dont wanna buy the DLC. Expansions cover the whole expansion and dont require a subscription. Solo and duo content is great, 4man content is great. PvP is great, 300v300v300 . What can go wrong. ALSO the level cap is 50, paragoning goes to 810 but once you hit paragon 160 all gear is equal ā¦ and its super easy to do
Archage is great for those that like proffessions. Archage crafting and trading is fantastic once you get into it. Loading a boat up with stock for a port on the other side of the world and actually having to sail it avoiding pirates brings a real daredevil playstyle to your game play. I remember reading trade chat to find out that people were ganking the trade route so i optād for a 110% profit instead of a 130%. Great times. (also really good for pvp if you like fast paced and the whole court system)
No thanks. The story, dialog and artistic stylings and sensibilities are too cringe
Yes. Too anime is very much a thing.
My issue with FFXIV is this.
Iāve started the games countless times. I play until level 50 or whatever and am forced to do story quests about a story I do not care about.
Itās gun play in my opinion is the best out of any shooter I have ever played.
I have 12,000 hours on CSGO, I played Halo and CoD as a kid for countless hours, I have 1,000 hours on Valorant.
And, still to me, the game play in Destiny 2 outshines them all.
Also, the MMO and RPG parts are VERY solid. I really love that game.
FF14 certainly has a grindy grind main story. I remember it took me 6 days just to get caught up in the base game, the first expansion was a whole lot longer
Im not a fan of rpg mechanics in shooters. (Accuracy, crit, massive health pools, etc) But the art and overall feel of the game is great.
Diabotical just released give that a try.
Yeah, I understand that. My friends love the gameplay but canāt behind the RPG element.
Iāll check it out, thanks friend!
Said the Blood Elf Rogue with the edgy name.
I donāt like weebs.
I donāt support excessive pampering and policing of behavior.
Thats enough reason for me to never touch FF14. Shame. Some of the systems it contains could be useful to steal and port into wow.
Already played it pretty much all of Bfa. Shadowbringers Msq was one of the best stories Iāve seen in an rpg. But 1-50 and the required Msq that consists of like 15 hours of fetch quests was horrid. I also dislike Ffxiv endgame. I had more fun leveling all the different jobs and doing the stories for each one. I mained Ninja and wow was it clunky. I quit before the patch that āfixedā Ninja but you were putting in 5 times the effort of any other job to underperform by a large margin. I will probably play the next expansionās Msq but Ffxiv isnāt an MMO I want to play full-time.
There are a ton of smaller indie titles that have been coming out to scratch any itch. Now would be a good time to play a few .
