I really like Soul Harvester

I have to say I really like Soul Harvester. It took me about a level to understand how to play it but now it feels so fluid. It’s like I"m a dot and shadow bolt machine. If I can get any momentum in a fight it flows so well and it it has some really good survivability. I leveled warmode and had almost no trouble with anybody I ran into. with a few exceptions.

It definitely feels powerful

Just wanted to say good spec blizzard.

I need to give this tree another try! Think I’ll do that this weekend! Thanks for making it sound neat enough to give a second look!

literally every time I get some momentum going I’ve been almost unstoppable. I still have problems when people hit me with their burst macros. But I think that’s understandable for a clothie affliction

Yeah I thought I’d like wither more, but Soul Harvester is smooth.

It also helps that gorebound fortitude is one of the best solo-content heals in the game (combined with the new healthstone capstone in the general talent tree).

I too, also think soul harvester feels great. I think having nightfall be a secondary spender, in a sense, gives a little more agency to the player.

I think it’s more immersive too. It feels like a true powerful warlock. Like this is how a warlock should fight.

I line soul harvester too. It’s not flashy or anything with any cool demon spaces, but it’s solid dps and engaging.

I slightly prefer SH to Diabolist On Demo because the pit lord summon annoyingly blocks my view.

Jesus how close are you zoomed in lol.

I’ve never encountered this.

Soul Harverster ended up being my favorite warlock hero spec, despite being initially really underwhelmed by it when the spec was revealed.

I came in expecting Hellcaller to be my favourite, but it falls behind in nearly every aspect. Giving Soul Harvester a shot, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Blizzard did indeed nail this Hero Tree.

Are you guys using drainsoul or shadowbolt?

I was really hoping to enjoy Diabolist more, and while is great, Soul Havester just feels SO good with Demo. Smooths everything out and leans into a favorite play style of mine. Lots of cycling imps and blasting DemonBolts

Giving Soul Harvester a shot now on my lock now. I leveled and pvped as Hellcaller affliction and found I really enjoyed it, Jinx is an MVP pvp talent, so far I’ve only done one heroic as Soul Harvester and it felt really smooth to set up DoTs and then alternate between DL and MR based on if I had shards and procs. I do need to get better at watching my DoTs though as I let Agony fall off more than I should.

Anyone got any recommendations for addons? I’m currently just using base UI after coming back from a long break.

shadow bolt

In pvp, having done hundreds of bgs at least now, soulharvester feels like more of a mage playstyle to me. My haunt and shadowbolt damage is through the roof, and honestly probably needs a nerf. I have seen (with only self buffs) 1.5m haunts with 1.5mil shadow bolts not including the 4-500k wicked reaping from the shadowbolt right after casting haunt. I feel like I can nearly 1 shot a lot of people who aren’t ready for it, and even a lot of people who are. Personally I don’t like this playstyle for lock, it is fun, but I always had an idea (at least in pvp), of lock being a dot and outlast class, wearing a team down.

Hellcaller, which is what i play most of the time, can put out a massive amount of group damage. Wither damage, while using the jynx pvp talent and curse of Satyr, lets me spam 1 button on everyone, cursing them and applying wither and agony to everyone. After i’ve done that to 4-5+ people I pop Malevolence which adds 6 stacks to everyone with wither, causaing blackened soul to pulse on them all, and then I continue to spam Curse of Satyr, redotting everyone because again, using a soul shard (because Jynx makes your curses use a soul shard now) adds more stacks to everyone with wither and the cycle continues. I can still spam shadowbolts, and I see 1-1.2m crits but without wicked reaping and the bonus shadowbolt damage from soulharvester I don’t feel like i can nearly 1 shot someone. But the crowd pressure in bgs from so many dots with hellcaller is huge.

I’m not 100% sure which I like more quite yet. I find myself changing every few hours just for the different playstyles. I’m not sure which i’ll use in arena yet either. Big burst or whole team pressure.

I ended up liking Soul Harvester a lot more than I thought I would for Demo.
It doesn’t intrude upon the core rotation at all, it’s basically just a free amp to single target and AoE with absolutely no additional micro. Don’t have to worry about casting HoG at the wrong time, don’t have to worry about Infernal Bolt over-capping you on shards in the midst of your Shadow Bolt spam, no frustration about Overlord travel time, it’s just a lot nicer. Less flashy, certainly, but way less of a bother.

Malevolence gives ya that voidy skin. As a void elf, it’s a necessity lol. I’ll definitely try SH though if I ever get bored of HC.

Drain soul

I’ve been going back and forth between drain soul and shadow bolt. They both sim the same dps for me, shadow bolts hit like a truck and with nightfall procs it’s nice to be able to use it on the move for mobility, but drain soul is more aff lock to me.
