I really hate this mission table system

It really isn’t that hard once you get the hang of it. I use Covenant Mission Helper.

you all need Plaguey

I never look at the enemy units, I just place my own units well. The system just requires a lot of grinding tbh

Kinda contradicting yourself there. Considering to place your units well, you need to look at the enemy units to see where their attacks are actually going. I mean you wouldn’t want to put your squishy DPS or Healer unit in the back row if that’s exactly where enemy nukes are going to be targeting.

CMH basically does that for you. You don’t have to grind.

I use Covenant Mission Helper too. There have been a handful of times where a missions was supposed to be winnable, but ended up failing anyway, but that’s rare. I suppose I can give Venture Plan a try if I start seeing more failed missions.

My problem is that I can no longer do the mission table on the WoW app. I literally need either the addon or at least a calculator, otherwise it’s just a waste of troops (sure, I can throw 5 20+ level troops at a lvl 12 mission, but I’d like to actually, ya know, be a bit more efficient than that). So yeah…I will still occasionally do BFA and Legion mission tables in the app, but the SL one is unusable.

I don’t use any addon for the table and I have 0 issues winning all my missions. It’s all about party comp and position, and paying attention to enemy abilities.

Plaguey is the G.O.A.T.

I don’t think any other companions comes close to his power.
Could you imagine Plaguey with Dreamweaver and Draven and a couple of Trappers?
I don’t think you could lose with that setup even if you tried.

No I use a ton of addons. But something as simple as mission tables, it should be more for convivence then an almost essential tool just to get a successful mission out the door.

There you go.
I get the feeling Blizz intentionally tried to make it unaddonable because WoD Garrison had an addon https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/master-plan, Legion has an addon https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/orderhallcommander, BFA has an addon https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/championcommander, but this time was different, this time I think Blizz tried to deaddonize the mission table and in attempting that they made it annoying for everyone.

^ best advice, this addon is awesome. Been using it for a month and I rarely fail now. It positions your followers for you, very nice.

What would an addon for the mission table do and why would you want one?

Positions and optimizes your troops for you while also predicting a win or loss.

Hm okay that does sound kinda helpful for sure

Just download venture plan and covenant mission helper, they will do all the work for you. Just select a mission, drag the two covenant based followers into the team area, select one of your followers and then hit the little “book” icon. It will determine the best team make up for you, place them in the open slots. You can them look in the right hand side and click the “optimize” button and it will reconfigure the layout of the team to be optimal and tell you the percent chance of success and how much health you will lose.

I don’t even bother researching it. I take some cool sounding bro’s & ho’s (looking at you meatball:) & just send em out; they haven’t lost yet. Granted I only go after anima or whatever else can be sold for gold. It has become a side note I barely remember to do while getting covenant / daily quests.

Edit: I’d rather play chess with my old neighbor.

Definitely only look at what my own characters point to.

Yup! I could usually figure it out if I stood there for 10, 12 minutes. And it’s necessary to use addons shave 5?

When you’re spending enough time traveling, having to sit there and figure out battle plans (& anxious to just go play the game,) is an inside game that is not fun.

In 9.1, they will introduce the brand new mission bed system.

You just nailed the issue I keep having with the mission table.

I’m progressing on it, completing missions and getting rewards and building it up… but it isn’t fun.

I’m sending companions out on adventures I’d rather be doing myself.

Oh, yes, I see there’s an evil villain about to destroy a village that offers a decent reward, let’s see, which companions should I send out to do that. No no, just need a minute to figure out what positions to take before I send them out because they won’t think for themselves.

Alrighty, let’s see what’s nearby for me to do now! And we’ve got… gormlings that need to be collected, for a smidge of gold. Ok. And there’s… Um, something involving parasol gliding for a wee bit of a anima. And is that one to collect pine cones?

On second thought, companions! Can I join you guys to take out that evil villain? No? Ok, guess I’ll just hang out here then, good luck, I guess…
