Sure it was fun and immersive in classic. Now that most of us just want to reach max level and enjoy current content it really sucks having to run all over the place not getting XP to unlock things like a new pet, druid forms, totems, etc. Be really nice at this point if we could just skip over these quests.
Aren’t the class quests significantly cut back by now? I think as a Druid the only class quest I have is for Bear Form and the rest are just taught at a trainer now.
Oh, you innocent thing, be happy that you no longer have your horse quest required, please
Think most if not all of the Warlock summon quests are still needed to actually be able to summon the pets. I’ve never really leveled a Warlock so I’m not 100% sure,
Shaman water totem quest says hi.
I’m leveling a warlock right now (58) and I had to do a quest for all summon pets except the imp. I just finished up the infernal quest the other day.
That said, I think this type of class flavor is great and should have never been removed like they did in retail (which overall has a abysmal leveling system).
Nah you still do the imp one only it’s in the starting zone, at least that’s how it is for Human Warlocks.
They removed them?? damn…
I’m pretty sure I started with my imp, but now it’s a little fuzzy, maybe I’m misremembering.
I’m 100% sure I had to do the quests for the voidwalker, succubus/incubus, felhunter, and infernal. I remember doing those. I just turned in the infernal quest when I was playing yesterday. Had to get the fel essence things from Felwood, Azhara, and Blasted Lands.
This was as an undead warlock.
idk felt like the druid walrus form quest was kinda fun even tho it was long.
its an mmo afterall so im not expecting to get everything from trainers
If you put the totem to your ear you can hear a shaman crying himself to sleep.
Just started leveling a human warlock. The imp is available on the trainer at level 1, quest is gone.
The rest of the summons still need quests done for them.
Bro class fantasy has been stripped so much already, and you want them to strip it even more? Jeez
Easy there chicken little. You can skip the succubus and do it when you are doing the felhunter quest and save a ton of time. After that there really isn’t any long class quests that is required to function at max level.
You don’t have to do them until 80 if you don’t want to. Imp is fine for leveling. Voidwalker quest really takes 10 mins tops, no reason to skip it but if you’re leveling as Aff you don’t need it. Felhunter and Succ are unnecessary while leveling, but the buff from Felhunter is nice in 5-mans.
Or you can wait til Cata classic when all the class quests disappear.
Yeah the shaman totem quests were a bit annoying especially since I had to go back to the dranei starting area multiple times.
Other than that most classes aren’t super annoying so it’s whatever to me, a short pain pill.
You get a mount at 20 and the epic is now on a trainer. Back when I leveled my warlock, we had no mount until 40, and had to do an obnoxious quest chain at 60 to get the dreadsteed.
In other words, get over it.

ehhhh. I see what you’re saying, I really do. Classic had the most focus on the journey. I mean, after all, what other wow version required you to level 59 times to hit level cap? The rest just weren’t designed that way.
Which becomes a problem when you’re not in classic anymore. These quests were apart of the journey but we’re in LKC now, it isn’t about the journey anymore. The quests are dated, and honestly, should, and do, receive the classic p4 treatment, where the book drop for the next skill just becomes a baked in and learned ability at X level.
I mean, how absurd would it be that you can’t get your newer ranks because you don’t know rank 9 from a book from UBRS. The same applies to class quests.
Honestly this is why Legion is so good though. They made the class fantasy apart of the Legion journey. It isn’t some random quest at level 20, but is part of the focus at cap.
It’s a really spicy take, but I agree, I’m glad these things get pruned out. They’re quests of their time, and while I enjoy my sneaky poison questline that leads to Ravenholdt, and the ST class quests, they don’t belong outside of 1-60 era.
