Sounds like a pretty bad guild to me. If someone isn’t performing well taking gear from them isn’t the answer. If they are performing poorly because they are under geared it’s really dumb. If they are performing poorly because of a bad spec or rotation punishing them by taking their gear isn’t going to fix that. Talk to them about their spec rotation and fix the problem.
Luckily I’m in a smaller tightknit guild, I couldn’t imagine someone treating a friend this way.
“not giving people loot they won” is the very definition of ninja looting.

Often times you don’t know you’re playing with those guys until you’re losing loot where you won the roll fair and square.

No… it sounds like they did very poor. They did so poor the guild vetoed thier roll. Rightfully so.

And we only know one side of the story here. But yes, “ninja looting” happens. You adjust accordingly if it happens. You can’t prevent it, only surround yourself with ppl you trust.

From what the OP has stated the gear was clearly being rolled on. Unless this is a loot council guild the roll determines who gets the gear.
As I said above, a guild of friends should be helping one another. If someone is performing poorly the correct thing to do is help them find out why. punishing them because they “suck” doesn’t help anyone.
Just going off what has been said, loot is rolled on, and this appears to be the first and/or only time that gear wasn’t given the the highest roller.

Bad gear is one thing.
But people who don’t know how to do a basic rotation are typically the same people who stand in fire in my experience. It’s not that they don’t know better they’re just bad.
