Interesting. Before all the gear-hiding was allowed, most mogs involved highly detailed, oversized armor, especially shoulderpads and weapons. Minimalist mogs (like I had considered mine) made up maybe 10% of the population.

People always wanted skimpy mogs, but most couldn’t handle the low resolution of the Vanilla Bikinis, which are 99% of the bikini pieces we can get.

I’m pretty sure that’s just a bug. It wasn’t just the Pants of the Naaru that were affected, two other pieces of gear sharing assets with them also were changed, to be more skimpy and revealing.

[Bug] Pants of the Naaru

The Pants of the Naaru changed with the patch to a more filled-in appearance. Three other things that share assets with those pants are also affected; The “Snowy Owl” Contender’s Costume, Spiritshroud Leggings and High Priestess Boots. Looks to me like the game got confused about what happens from the thigh down on those pieces and filled in with visuals from the male appearance, in the case of the Pants of the Naaru and the “Snowy Owl” Costume, instead of leaving the skin showing for females…

Oh my, yes it is. There aren’t many skimpy options of any texture other than furry.
Leather can definitely be sleek and stylish, instead of just the savage and primitive that we have now.

Minimalist transmogs have forever had a solid following. Even before we could hide everything, some sort of skimpy or hidden armor has always held a steady spot in the top ten of popular transmogs for every slot.

Now if something can be hidden, the most popular option is to hide it.
