So are you claiming pvp stuff isn’t fomo or just gunna ignore how people can love without that fomo but the plunderstorm stuff is too much?
Cuz so far you’re.main argument was “no ur small minded” which isn’t really an argument

You underestimate my love for pirate themed stuff.
Never said that but you got ultra focused on only pvp stuff.
You kept saying you don’t understand FOMO you don’t understand how there’s so little self control then in another topic you said “well stop making FOMO so profitable”. So you contradict yourself a bit there.
Same I enjoy it and I still likely won’t hit renown 40 because it’s a fun side thing to me and I’m not playing as much right now.
I also got the legendary to drop last week on my DK so I’m chipping away at that quest.
And before PS dropped I was leveling a mage, currently 53, and I’d like to try and get him to 70 before season 4 starts.
So I have things I want to do, just spread thin with my play time.
I love this thread

Hence why I asked a question about if you are saying that

I don’t understand FOMO, it means nothing to me cuz I can live without these things
You’re the ones complaining about it while also making it incredibly profitable
Stop buying it and then it’ll not be profitable and it won’t be used anymore. But no, it’s someone else’s fault as I said above
Anyway, you clearly don’t understand what I’m saying based on everything you’re saying just ignoring everything I pointed out so good luck getting angry over fomo while handing blizzard money everytime they do it
I don’t understand FOMO, it means nothing to me cuz I can live without these things
But you know why it exists?
You’re the ones complaining about it while also making it incredibly profitable
I’m paying for wow because I enjoy wow in spite of FOMO.

How can I not “buy” FOMO in wow and still play the game? You don’t make any sense.
you clearly don’t understand
Sure.
Why is it such a foreign concept for some people to understand that we as people do things we don’t like all the time to get things we want.
A lot of people aren’t particularly fond of working out, but do it because they like the end result.
As a kid you might have hated your vegetables, but you ate them cause mommy said you could have a cookie after dinner if you did.
That rom-com on Netflix looks awful, but your significant other really wants you to watch it with them so you’re going to sit through it to make them happy.
Going on a family vacation can be a logistical nightmare at times, and going through the airport always sucks, but it sure is nice once you are finally relaxing on the beach.
And WoW has a long, storied tradition of miserable grinds for a coveted reward at the end. This is the latest in the long line of them.
We will do them because we want the shinies at the end and we will complain about it the whole way.
Take your own advice. If you don’t like it, don’t read it and mute the threads.
I want to play wow, but here I am playing a different game.
So play WoW and not plunderstorm?

I witnessed multiple people saying how much they hated it and were counting down how much renown they had left until they never had to play Plunderstorm again. If you think this is some minority just on the forums, you’re sorely mistaken.
[/quote] a couple people in a lobby of 1000s of lobbies… lol you realize that out of the millions of people who play it’s still going to end up being a much smaller amount of people?

Whatever helps you sleep better at night. Let’s see how many people are still playing in a week or two because it’s such a fun, engaging experience.

I sleep good regardless. I just think maybe we shouldn’t get rid of something just because a few people dislike it when others are really enjoying themselves with it.
I don’t think anyone is asking blizzard to get rid of it. Closest thing I said to that is that it shouldn’t have rewards carry over to WoW since it’s a different game and people wouldn’t feel obligated to do it.
An example I used was hearthstone. You got a mount for WoW just by logging in but that was it. You could play it if you wanted to but there was no other WoW rewards to try to get you to stick around.
But what if they were also offering other stuff. Let’s say 750 traders tender for WoW, but to get those you had to play 300 games of hearthstone. How would you feel about that?

But if we say this

This cant happen any more either.

So 300 games is a bit of an exaggeration maybe for when plunder first came out, but since then (2nd day and on) plunder has been buffed heavily. I don’t find that a bad thing, genuinely. Maybe It’s because I’m more open-minded than most, but I’m a pver who tried plunder and enjoyed it. During the HS event I played some of that new game mode made a deck and found myself sinking 45 mins into it. Enjoying it.
HS was a shorter event, so the rewards revolved around it being short
Plunderstorm is a longer event, so rewards take longer, that just seems like normal logic to me.
But what if they were also offering other stuff. Let’s say 750 traders tender for WoW, but to get those you had to play 300 games of hearthstone. How would you feel about that?
if I didn’t like Hearthstone, if Hearthstone was a miserable experience for me, then I would not play it, and the rewards would not matter to me. There are no rewards that I need badly enough for me to play something that I do not enjoy playing.
why is this such difficult concept to understand?
There is no cosmetic in the game worth forcing yourself to do something you hate.
This. The only cosmetics worth grinding are the more rare pieces in game or those earned through difficult content during their relevancy. Otherwise, you just look like everyone else.
This cant happen any more either
Im totally fine with that. I wish blizzard didn’t do cross over events even though I understand why they do it.
Maybe It’s because I’m more open-minded than most, but I’m a pver who tried plunder and enjoyed it
I went in with an open mind and tried to give it a fair shot. I’m someone who has done a fair share of pvp in the past. I’m not completely adverse to it. The pvp in this event just didn’t click with me. I didn’t find it fun or engaging or well balanced. I thought it was shallow and boring. It felt like a cheap f2p game and I still think that’s where it is eventually going to end up.
In the end, it just became another rep grind for me to check off the list and now that I’ve got it done, I can move on to the next thing.
I don’t begrudge the people who genuinely enjoy it but I wanted to make sure that I left my feedback for blizzard that I didn’t find it to be an enjoyable experience.
Im totally fine with that. I wish blizzard didn’t do cross over events even though I understand why they do it.
This feels like a lot of what’s fueling the conversation. I understand this train of thought, I just don’t see the downside of them doing events like this.
I just don’t see the downside of them doing events like this.
Because it was packaged as a wow patch and wow content when it isn’t. Baited and switched on.
wow patch and wow content
Technically it’s wow content, just like sod is wow content and classic is wow content. It was packaged as a secret event.
