I misunderstand or social contract is too vague

this right here…

I do not. It doesn’t say that. It doesn’t say “you must engage in social communication”. It says “try your best to” and lists all that stuff. The same stuff that’s been in our tips, upon loading screens.

The only thing of concern is what we can be reported for and “not engaging in social communication” isn’t one of them.

To clarify, here is what you can reported for:

We recognize that the Internet is not always a safe haven. With that in mind, please note that the following behaviors are not accepted in Azeroth:

  • Hate speech, including negative comments that target another player’s identity, including aspects like race, gender, or ability

  • Harassment, threats, or abusive / derogatory language and behaviors

  • Spamming, advertising, or other disruptive behaviors

  • If you harm your fellow adventurers with any of the above behaviors, you are subject to punishment up to and including suspension of your account.

The rest is just “advice”. Stuff they put in their “tips”, on the loading screens:

While in Azeroth, do your best to:

  • Connect with other players and make friends! Being courteous in group content can help you and your teammates have the best time possible. Sending a friendly hello message can help set your group up for success.

  • Play as a team with your fellow players - whether in dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, arenas, or out questing in the world. Do your best to support your team through your communication and behaviors so that you can all celebrate your success together.

  • Assist other players that you encounter in the world. Maybe they need some help defeating a tough monster, or maybe they could use a little healing!

  • Help answer questions others have in chat channels like General or Trade. We were all newbies once - one person offering some help can go a long way!

Stop feeding the Troll his bait. Report this thread as spam. Let the automation sort it out.
The OP claims to be banned from more platforms/content than I think anyone claiming to be a victim could be.

It looks hungry.

The only thing that’s automated is the collapsing down of the OP post. It takes a moderator to either unflag it, delete it or lock it.

its no different than if it said EULA

Or “TOS” or “CoC”.

OP they can’t force you to help people out in the games open world it is just a suggestion .

The only part about the contract that really matters is the toxic behavior based around language and other attacks on players via chat .

We can’t help everyone all the time or we would never have time to do the things we want to do in game . We do however have control over what we say to people and how we treat them in our conversations with them .

its meant to be that way all they can do is kick you out of the game

Could we argue just basic interaction etiquette? xD.

I’m not going to argue about anything because IDC if Blizz called it “Pink Unicorns & Rainbows”. The name of the rules is irrelevant. It’s just a red herring. It’s just Blizz reminding their playerbase of their already put in place rules and providing unwarranted advice, like the tips, on the loading screen. Which, I understand can be turned off, but that’s not the point.

It appears to me, that the OP may have an actual medical condition that is contributing to their confusion as to the meaning of the “contract”. Berating them as a troll would be at best, unfair.

More folks perhaps should pay attention to the SUGGESTED behaviors in the contract and stop assuming and being nasty to the OP.

It would also appear that they have received an acceptable answer from a poster above.

It might be time to let this thread go to its rest now.

How is it that people somehow misconstrue recommendations/suggestions as requirements? Do schools not teach vocabulary, grammar and reading comprehension anymore?

I don’t refer to anyone as a “troll”. I joked back with the one who did because I find it pointless for some (not all) to chime in and be like “don’t feed the trolls”. So, my retort is usually “but, it looks hungry”, and the conversation ends there.

I do think the word “troll” is overused and just really means that the person using/saying “troll”, just doesn’t like what the person is saying and just brushes it off with “oh, it’s a troll post”.

Then, your contribution is just as pointless 'cause you keep adding more fuel to the fire. I was the last one to say something, and you pointlessly re-bumped the thread just to say this

Oh… well that makes sense and I apologize for my frustration.

They may need someone IRL to sit down and explain better. In those circumstances, written words may not help.

With the social contract your only committed too doing your “best”.

If you have limitations that mean you won’t or can’t socialisation your still doing your best effort to adhere to it and that all good.

…and then you bumped it again. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Kthxbye.

The social contract is basically a TLDR of what is already in the ToS but put in a way to remind players of behavior.

Honestly I feel wow players are just doing what they do best. Taking a minor issue and blowing it way out of proportion.

You bumped it, first and did it, again. I had no intention in catering to your wants in “letting it die”. You don’t want to see a thread, then you Mute it. Just seems redundant to say “let it die” while still bumping it up. It’s counter-productive.
