I miss Garrosh

Which Warhammer, fantasy or 40k?

Nah, there was a lot of “villainous” things being done by the factions, tons of it, you just didn’t saw it while you played then, you had to make the starting zones, the questlines in both sides to see.

Wrath had a lot of those, where X side attacked the other for personal reasons, these “stories” never reached mainstream or the ears o the general population.

Sure it escalated in later expansions, but it was more of the same.

Lol, says who? You?

The IP has had war crimes since the very beginning. I find it both ludicrous and hilarious that you would actually be in a camp of “wahh, warcrimes, waah” in warcraft.

The Arthas story alone, the most recognisable and often touted as the best warcraft story, was rife with war crimes.

Even back in the day of getting the Black War Bear, those of us who did it had an AMAZING time raiding opposing cities, slaughtering everyone, committing major war crimes as players.

Tired of this soft aaah mentality towards the warcraft IP lmao.

I did play both sides. The worst were probably some of the Forsaken quests and even they were relatively milquetoast compared to Cata.

Arthas wasn’t part of the Alliance as we know it today. Even if you consider him Alliance, the players weren’t around at that time.

To maintain the illusion of being part of a faction, the factions ideals and actions must align with the player’s. Usually this sorts itself out as players (who care) will pick their race/faction accordingly.

Players can become disillusioned if you change the faction and pull the rug out for under them without giving them an out - change to another faction, change to a rebelling faction who opposes the change, or just no faction at all.

Garrosh was the worst. A disgrace to all Orcs.

Like how Blizzard has systemically destroyed the faction conflict as well as completely dismantling the Horde identity?

Unfortunately for now we are in the power of friendship era for wow. My un founded belief that this direction taken is cathartic for the employees there who were clearly affected at such abusive work environment. Hopefully the story tone can shift back a bit towards its roots.

Garry could have been an interesting character, but Blizz can’t write themselves out of a paper bag so…RIP Garrosh

His cut scene in SLs was the high point of that whole expansion

I dunno if Garrosh will return after self-disenchanting. He may or may not be dead dead. Still unclear, but if he is gone, could we maybe get a new warlike leader for the Horde? Maybe one without baggage that just wants to lean into the aggression?

Yeah… I didn’t think so either. But it doesn’t hurt to ask.

A manly, fearless, often wrong character?
That’s CERTAINLY not androgynous enough to exist in today’s Warcraft.
