I loved the resounding silence at Earthen Allied race

There’s multiple possible reasons why other than the one you have posed.

Also I didn’t say everyone wants them. I said certainly a large group does, certainly as many if not more than those that requested Worgen, void elves, Kul’tirans, or diaper gnomes. And would require barely any more work than them too, if any at all.

Look, it isn’t some kind of secret that it’s easier to add a reskin than it is to allocate resources to figuring out how to animate Ogres and Naga like player characters. ALL Allied Races are re-skins. There is no downside to having them. I am not making one, but I’m sure plenty of people will.

Step 1: Select Blood Elf or Void Elf.
Step 2: Pick pale/fair skin, gold/platinum hair color, and blue eye color customization options.
Step 3: Enjoy your new High Elf character.

I myself have a High Elf Priest ready for The War Within and Midnight thanks to Mists of Pandaria: Remix.

Naga use Night Elf animations already. They are practically a Night Elf reskin aside from the tail, and as I said, when they need legs, blizz could literally have them transform reskinned models of the legs of either night elves or a not even reskinned model of some other race on to themselves, like mogu’s legs or something, which admittedly is just a reskinned pair of draenei legs.

Ogres could easily be added as a reskinned, enlarged Kul Tiran model. It’s ridiculously simple.

It’s practically a certainty that lots of people want Vrykul too, which already has all necessary anims and rigging.

Blizz has made it clear they do not listen to what we want. Earthen was blatantly not a popular choice to add. Blizz is either clueless or spiteful, and the argument Piidina makes that races like Ogres, Naga, and Vrykul, which have been requested for well over a decade, going on two decades in the prior two cases, are not popular enough to get added when we are getting an unpopular race like EARTHEN, is either blatant ignorance, or disingenuous trolling. It literally would just take an enlarged reskin of an existing race for ogres to be added, an automatic partial transformation to gain the reskinned legs of an existing race under specific circumstances for Naga to be added, and practically NOTHING for Vrykul to be added.

I don’t get why people are still having this argument. The High Elves aren’t even a society anyway, they are just Blood Elves who were away at Farstrider lodges when Kael’thas started siphoning demonic power.

Which is how it should have stayed.

Because people play WoW only when they look like barbie dolls.

Nein. If I had Naga I’d be playing that. But I do not. Until then I play my second favorite. An OG blood elf. The fact that I look like a ken doll is coincidental.

…blizzard isnt going to introduce a new class every expansion that would be absurd.

Some people aren’t understanding yet that Blizzard cares too much about the lore to add races that don’t make sense to add.

Ogres will never be playable. It’s like making random skeletons in Eastern Plaguelands playable. If you haven’t noticed, the races we have cannot be or are not purely evil. They don’t add pure evil beings as races, we would’ve had playable Demons already.

Technically Blood Elves are just High Elves with a new name, but yes.

Ogres are not purely evil.

Nervously looks over at Man’ari Draenei.

Naga would have made sense in Warthin.

Also LMFAO @ Blizz caring about the lore.

Forsaken were about as evil as Naga are. And…

You’re a troll, Sheva. And not even a good one.

Comparing ogres to random skellies in EP is utterly ridiculous, lmfao.

TWW sure seems promising… uh huh.

That must be why Ion backed out of the all races - all classes thing, cause he so confident in TWW man.

Lel. This is gonna be fun. Grabs popcorn

Huh? I thought they would announce shaman as the new class for all… with so much shaman stuff going on in Dragonflight. So the last classes will forever be restricted? Did I miss something?

As for the op, yeah, a lazy recolor for dwarves is just lame on so many levels. Especially for the Alliance. The same race three times without a counterpart? Come on.

That’s not what they said, there’s no immediate plans and they want all the combos to make sense and have appropriate lore.

Im beginning to suspect none of you have even seen an Earthen

They really did earthen dirty by showing off this as their blizzcon reveal

Anyone whos not looked in to them since will naturally think theyre a boring recolour.

Of course those who have played around with them now that theyre out for testing know how different they are as a race.

Yeah im fairly certain that’s where most of the complaints are coming from.

Uhm… I mean they look like dwarves. How are they different?

If it looks like a dwarf, is called a dwarf by the devs during Blizzcon, acts like a dwarf and is animated like a dwarf… it’s probably a dwarf. The third lazy recolor of it.

They aren’t. Some white knights just want to protect their beloved multi million company and their low budget decisions at all costs.

That’s a good point.

A lot of the “white knights” will say :

“Nuh uh! These aren’t Dwarves…. They are Earthen!”

I can’t tell if they are just using semantics or are serious… but even Blizzard calls them Dwarves.
