I love this server?

Hi, I’m sorta new to roleplaying and haven’t really dipped my toes into the whole thing until recently but I just gotta say… I love this server so very much!

There is always something going on or people interacting with each other and everyone is so kind and creative! it really is just such a cool thing to see and maybe it’s because people are used to it, but I personally just think its astounding how this server exists and operates. Stormwind and other places that are normally deserted are just full of people existing and having fun!

I’m not really sure what compelled me to make this, but I really just felt this strong urge to compliment all of you for all the cool memories which is such an odd thing to say as I’ve only been around for a tiny while!

We are glad to have you on this server. There is always opportunity to be had anywhere across the map, but it usually starts with a simple meeting with others of similar interest in stormwind.

Don’t be discouraged when at times you may not find others looking to play. With the focus right now on TWW content, everyone is eagerly leading the charge against a single foe so don’t feel like you have to catch up to them. Just play the role you wish and make the best of it. Explore and find what story you want to create for yourself and what role you wish to play as.

Always keep your options open as you may have interests that change as you progress, and you may make different partnerships or alliances with different characters/players. And don’t let others try to tell you how to play. You are the writer of your own story and your own adventure. Only you can decide how it ends.

Forewarning spoiler

Please note any actions toward an evil life will eventually lead you to my doorstep in the Maw. I have such wonderful things to show you and numerous ways to extract pain, anguish and suffering should you meet your demise sooner than anticipated.

Otherwise, enjoy the trip and feel free to stop in to the gift shop of adventure and pick out numerous souvenirs to showcase your greatest of journey’s here on Moon Guard.

Oh and remember to take pictures/screenshots/snaps.

Sorry for a bit of repetition, but I’m just blown away by how creative folks are here. Like I can read a literal novel about each character I come across and I just think that’s the neatest thing in the world! Oh, and the transmogs are just amazing! Like how are all of y’all so creative!?

Lmao…Seasons 1&2 of Queer eye for the Straight Guy, Ru Paul’s Drag Race, or Project Runway has taught them everything they need to know of fashion. Just kidding.

No actually its many of the posts from players on Wowhead that give ideas for numerous outdated Transmogs so that players can tweak or update.

Otherwise just a lot of picking and choosing. “Does this blend in well with this item or does it balance out the color if worn with this cape/etc.”

Be it the simplest look of an honest life, or what makes a man/woman look rugged/hard/weather worn from battle! And everything in between.

Whatever works to match the personality/style the player desires. Some stick to the perfected suits already in place piecing them together after weeks of raids, or long days of running dungeons over and over until the right item finally drops.

The location of their origin or place of home also greatly influences their style. Ex: I work/live/operate in the Maw, so death is my shroud and torture is my mantle.

It takes time finding the right transmog that works best for you. Start out easy and give yourself time to farm/hunt/create the perfected suit that works for you. Asking in chat for ideas also works.

And when it comes time for Fashion week, you can battle it out with other players to see what they use and add it to your own.

Yeah, who wouldn’t love a server that’s an endless debate of politics and which WoW-NPC is the most sexy.

Tell me you spend all day arguing with people in trade chat without telling me.

The first step to loving any server, and improving your WoW life in general, is turning off trade chat.

I read that the WoW HR director got Fired this week and I wonder if it’s because that I have to do things like “turn off trade chat” to enjoy a game I’m actively paying for?

Or maybe it’s because I have to read a Blizzard Written Walkthrough to make the game enjoyable, as written in their Solo guide which they host on WoW’s front page

its something in the water…
seriously. someone spiked it.

I love MG. When I returned at the start of DF, I rolled on Tich with some friends. Then eventually hopped around to Proudmoore. Then eventually I checked out MG and haven’t looked back since using MoP Remix to rebuild my alt army on MG.

I’ll never forget one day at like 3am I went to go drop some stuff in my bank…

And there was a line to the bank in Valdrakken.

Legit, that’s when I fell in love with MG.

Yeah - text chat is active. But so is the world. People interacting and just messing around in the major cities is super fun.

A couple weeks ago there were a bunch of Tree Ents walking around Dronagal, so i got on my Cinder Bee mount and followed them and it turned into one of them running and yelling “AHHHH BEES”

That tiny little interaction would never happen on Tich or Proudmoore <3 But I’ll always cherish that a little bit.

Role players are great, but that’s not what’s happening with the problems at Moonguard. First of all, I swear to God that the server has been listed as “full” since 2008, and somehow I have toons attached to this server that I know for a fact that I rolled on other servers specifically because of that fact. But now they’re on Moonguard, so something clearly happened from when I rolled back in 2005 to now. I know this, because the problems with Moonguard have been pretty well documented all the way back to when it was JUST one of the RP servers, and happened to be fingered as the one for all the pornoholics. So people started visiting them. Every day. Until it became Goldshire.

So basically, right out of the gate Moonguard announced to the internet it was the hanky panky server and I guess Blizzard just assumed everybody wants to do that? I dunno, but now we have a server that has like 3 populations - clear griefers, people just looking to AR PEE as their elf or whatever, and then people I would not trust around tiny children.

We aren’t responsible for the stereotype our server gets labeled with because of youtubers, streamers, and tourists coming to see a single part of the larger scene and making that what they share with people who have never been to the realm. There isn’t some secret Moonguard council that decides what we “announce to the internet”.

To me, it sounds like your problems are A: You don’t like the way Blizzard runs wow in general, B: You don’t like the typical person on Trade Chat (Just a heads up, its like that on every populated server, not just Moonguard) and C: You don’t like “AR PEE”. Can’t help you with that first one, /leave Trade solves the second one (But you complained about having to do that) and the third one makes me question why you keep playing on moonguard if you don’t like the entire point of the server.

But it’s not. I paid money to move my main off your awful server and it absolutely is not like that on other realms.

For one thing, I don’t feel like I’m instantly on an FBI watchlist when I log into WoW

Ooh, I’m going to spill the tea since you seem to want to call me out. Lets talk about the RP deer that wanders around Stormwind :stuck_out_tongue: And how it’s been an “rp” fixture of your server for years.

There is a lot going on MG at any given time. Good, bad, in between. You live for the good, you try to avoid the bad, and sometimes you are in between.

That said, the amount of projects and events Blue side this place brings to the table is far too cool to merely dismiss it. I love it here.

I’m just saying your real life must be pretty boring if you see a post of someone saying they’re enjoying their time on a server and make it a point to come in and tell everyone why they’re wrong.

MG has issues, literally no one here is denying it. The aggressive messaging feels really unhinged and is honestly just bizarre to watch as an unaffiliated third party.

I’m glad an unaffiliated third party is keeping tabs on my saga, buddy.

Maybe it’s just because the “Why I Quit RP” forum post, which had been on front page of the MG forum for like 2 weeks, suddenly got deleted?

Nobody is denying your server has problems, ya just hide it.

You mean This thread?. Just needed to scroll down a bit. Not deleted at all.
