Exactly this… #pulltheripcord is far from dead and I would argue its been reinforced now that it has hit live. I have seen more threads complaining about Covenant Abilities than defending it.
They have reached the stage of “acceptance” and have moved on . They will rise again in another different form when Blizz tampers with their class balance again
Won’t matter- If a player is mandating the use of augment runes for raids /m+ then even the tiniest amount of imbalance would be an issue . Best to ignore these players like Blizzard always has .
Subjective !!
Yes these type of players will still be paying and playing Wow probably even more to feed their need to be optimum . History states that Blizzard does not buff other skills to be on par with the current BIS. Instead they will nerf the the current Bis
Covenant abilities are more nuanced and variable than augment runes. Everyone can use an augment rune no matter what; powers can be applied in different ways and if they are close ENOUGH then arguments can be made either way.
One is a trade off, the other is a straight gain. In cases where there is a significant gain, you’re right; they will be functionally mandatory.
I don’t know what you mean by this. I was being facecious to the person I replied to, this isn’t what I actually think. They are picking it because it’s the strongest, no other reason.
Buffing one and nerfing the other are the same functional thing. Again, I’m not sure what argument you are making.
They are not . Buffing everything that is all skills to come to par to one makes the game easier to play it also will take a huge amount of effort from Blizzard’s part , nerfing one ability does nothing other than help meta addicts in their problem of selection.
What you are saying has no relevance to the discussion of relative strength of covenant abilities. You’re right, they could have buffed or nerfed, but they decided to nerf, so the relative difference is very small. If they had buffed instead (which is functionally where they belong), the delta between high and low performing abilities would have been much more impactful.
Which is still not going to be enough as usual for the same players who demanded it. The topic at hand is “Pull the ripcord movement has died” not relative strength of covenant abilities but a particular player movement based on it . Yes this movement has died off .
There were two threads here on the forums and on reddit that had over 5000 replies. There were arguments on twit twaat and other social media outlet in all its Glory
I do not see this trend now let alone the so called reinforced argument. Why is that ? Most of these players have accepted the system and moved on. They are grinding in game right now as we speak.
Because most of them are playing the game. It’s not like we’re going to change much until there is evidence of the damage that is already done at this point, is there? If you think that anything has changed about the reason for those threads you have rocks in your head.
My specs being heavily gated and in some cases me being more useful not using my borrowed power ability at all is way more important than people’s 1 millionth allied race request/customization option mental outburst.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could make the choice based on the aesthetics instead of being forced into one based on the content you want to do and just so happen to be lucky enough that its ideal for something else you want to do?
All my alts are going to be covenants that have neat armor sets for their armor type, and I’ll probably snag the Night Fae set on my up and coming death knight.
I picked necrolords for aesthetics. But their abilities are garbage and I wish I could get useful ones. The ripcord still needs to be pulled.
If I had things my way I’d make it so once you maxed out renown there’d be 3 quest chains you can do. Each of them lets you check up on how the over covenants are doing and help them out one last time. This lets you talk to a brand new NPC in Oribos that lets you treat the two slots you have as different talent rows.
People gave up on #PullTheRipcord because Blizzard clearly chose not to. What’s the point in arguing with them about it now? That doesn’t mean we’ve changed our minds, it means we’ve accepted that they’re going to be stupid and we can’t help it.
Also damn, it’s been less than a week. Give us time to finish leveling before expecting us to resume our complaints.
