I like Calia

She’s cool and I’m glad they’re continuing to try keeping her relevant. :dracthyr_shrug:

Calia will likely feature in the Retaking of Gilneas so Horde can help out, and I bet when Lordaeron gets rebuilt. She will feature even more around Midnight expansion.

Which makes sense, she’s being set up to be the new Forsaken queen. And while yes she doesn’t necessarily want that role right now, it is somewhat implied by Lillian that she’ll help guide Calia until Calia is ready to take on the mantle of leader. It was a logical and inevitable path, so people complaining about it makes little sense in my opinion.

They certainly are trying.

Like when Shadowlands starts, and Lorthemar says something about her “wisdom”

Who is this broad, again? Some guy’s sister who got shot up and brought back to bother everyone?

Blizzard will cram that square peg into a round hole, so help them

I’ll take it over the alternative of “It didn’t immediately land once? Time to shelve forever/kill off in a book”

Dang sounds like she meets all the requirements to lead, idk, some bland living Human kingdom, she should try that instead :sunglasses:

She is kinda doing that isn’t she?

Also, I heard she was part of the priest order hall, so might be a case of a character that a group of players will have a bigger connection than others, and then there js the fact that before the storm happens outside of the game.

But I dont have anything in favor or against her, to me she just exists.

Its not like she is the literal hereditary ruler of Lordaeron following the death of all the rest of her family (and we dont talk about her brother nono)

To be clear, /s

Strictly irrelevant because the Forsaken nation isn’t Lordaeron 2.0, the royal titles of a dead kingdom are meaningless here (especially since the Forsaken were never all from Lordaeron, hell many of them aren’t even Humans to begin with) + Calia explicitly renounced to her birthright anyway

wdym

Forsaken fans have no connection to Calia, that’s one of the (many) big issues with her. She was introduced in the Priest order hall, in which she wasn’t even frankly prominent, then she was forced down everyone’s throat at the very end of BFA as a White Savior figure and was given a ruling position in 9.2.5 for whatever reason. She was propped up to Forsaken leadership before even becoming an actual Forsaken character.

ill like calia when her lore makes sense

Calia herself isn’t a bad character. She just doesn’t fit the forsaken aesthetic. She COULD with a little work, but that takes time. Nothing wrong with liking the character otherwise, she has her fans just like every other character in WoW.

We just need to remind ourselves that just because some forsaken fan dislikes her, doesn’t mean every forsaken fan dislikes her. We all have a a bad habit of sometimes thinking we speak for everyone else, when we don’t

Oh yeah, she was there!! I don’t recall her doing much; I actually had to look it up to see if she actually was present.

But yup, whaddayaknow, Calia.

I feel nothing for Calia because the game has shown me nothing about Calia exact she is the new leader of the Forsaken because Menethil. I cannot have an opinion about a character I don’t know.

And in typical fashion she’s shown to be “humble” by wishing she wasn’t of that bloodline because of all the evil it has brought into the world.

Which I might have taken more seriously if she wasn’t some pure as snow anti-undead.

If they had at least made her a proper undead, she’d be interesting. Light-raised undeath is just a silly conscept. They could of raised her to true life.

Why isn’t she upset about this betrayal :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I also fail to see how sitting the undead sister of Arthas Menethil on the throne is somehow de-escalating Alliance/Forsaken tensions.

God, this whole thing.

Like nah, Calia. Arthas wasn’t the sole, single member of your family. While we don’t have many examples of the Menethils at all, Terenas came across as a wise and just ruler from everything we know about him. There wouldn’t even be a Stormwind right now, if not for him. Hell, there might not be an Azeroth if not for the Alliance of Lordaeron that he started, fighting against the orcs and preventing them from ultimately summoning Sargeras to Azeroth.

Don’t go placing blame on your entire family just because blonde paladin boys tend to have a lot of emotional baggage and issues.

I dont think she was blaming her whole family. I think her comment was about leaving behind the legacy of death and destruction that arthas caused and that forever tainted the menethil name.

It’s how I see it anyway
