Unless they change their mind on AHK being in memory while playing WoW, I don’t think there is anything you can do.
Never have AHK loaded in computer memory when playing a Blizzard game.
I can’t PROVE that is what you got banned for, but based on a lot of other posts here over the years, it is likely that is what they flagged you for. It does not matter if you use it with WoW or not, just having it in memory at the same time will do it.
I suspect that is because it is used to facilitate and streamline multiboxing which is outside WoW, but still not allowed. People can multibox but have to do it totally manually.
In addition, they may not be able to 100% tell “this program that’s used for botting and cheating was open, but it wasn’t used for WOW”. Things like that affect the way the system and input devices work. It may not be possible to “have it open but not use it with WOW” from the point of view of the game and Warden.
*Disclaimer: I have never used or even installed this program myself, so I can’t speak for what it can do, but I know it’s very common in botting.
That is my guess too. It is automation software and I don’t think Warden can tell exactly which programs it is interacting with, or providing mouse/keyboard automation for. It just detects that it is being used at the same time as a Blizzard game.
That is conjecture though. I don’t work there, and Blizzard is never going to tell us specifically.
Sorry original poster sounds like the conclusion is you are banned and nothing can change that situation. Hopefully an appeal works out down the track.
Perma ban? Have you had actions taken against your account before? Reason I ask is they usually in the past they would start with temporary bans. Like anywhere from 3 to 6 month bans at first, then repeat offences led to permanent bans. Maybe it depends on the offence idk. Perma ban seems pretty extreme for a first-time offender breaking a videogame 3rd party software rule. Just appeal it. Maybe they will at least lower it to a temporary ban if anything.
For the majority of players the rules that are laid out in the the agreement are more than sufficient.
It’s a lot more rarer that someone receive a account action and truly not know what they have done wrong. I have seen many people claim innocence, only to be shown later that they weren’t so innocent.
It can happen. But it’s rather rare when it does.
But you’re right there isn’t any reason to speculate. All that is left to be said is to appeal until no more appeals are accepted. If by chance the OP has already reached that point. Then it’s time to move on. Either by starting over or finding a new game.
Chat/social penalties are separate from the Hacks/Cheating/Exploiting penalties and are handled by two different teams. GMs handle social penalties and Hacks team handles the anti-cheat side.
Under Chat/Social it splits again into two categories:
Chat penalties
Naming penalties
Those each climb slightly different trees under the chat/social side. So a bad name starts with a name change while a chat penalty starts with a week Silence. They each go up differently from there.
