Hey hey hi hi.
i know this is insane.
cyberpunk has an anime coming out, looks rad. hope its good. i got to thinking that maybe world of warcraft can bust into the anime scene aswell.
WoW movie imo was very great but i think it lost allot of its flexability because it was using actors. in a anime setting, the 2d can really show a legit legendary battle between a orc v human.
To those who dont enjoy anime i understand the instant cringe you might feel reading this post. Please check out these studios, they make bangers and imo are worthy of G.O.A.T status. : studio Mapa, studio bones, and madhouse studio.
I’m hoping with Riot’s success with Arcane that we might see an animated show for Warcraft. I feel with products that have a crazy amount of world-building behind them are better suited to be consumed as shows rather than feature-length films.
Watching that, I’m still mad that Arthas and Illidan never had a final reunion. It probably won’t ever come to be now that Illidan is a meat puppet for Sargy and Arthas is 35 anima.
Maybe one day we’ll get Caverns of Time: Icecrown Glacier. #Copium
I’m actually surprised an Isekai set in Azeroth hasn’t been made yet.
Some lonely fatso gets struck by a u-haul and ends up in a fantasy world. He’s now a handsome 6’5 Night Elf that wields the power of the light. He meets cute elf companions that aide him on his quest to defeat the evils of Azeroth and find a way back to his home world.
Their art entertainment media department already has the talent and abilities to do 3D to rigged 2D animation, and even possibly hybrid.
Make it part of the subscription, just update the main wow page to hold it as an inhouse stream and release each episode for the subscribers, and place them a week or two later on youtube for the rest of the world to view.
I don’t think WoW has a decent full-length story to tell other than Arthas / Lich King, but the problem with that is that it would have to follow HIM for most of it… and then abruptly switch gears to Tirion & co killing him. Because realistically the interesting part of his story ends when he becomes the lich king. The death cinematic is all fine and good, but the story leading to the death is in an MMO, so it’s very very lacking, and comes from a different perspective.
Eh, not really. 15 years in the industry, long as there is a ready pipeline it isnt as taboo as what is claimed on bird app or other social media platforms, and the terrible ones seen (looking at you Berserk) is often due to bad or zero pipelines.
Although…
If one wanted to really break the mold. License out to ShadowMachine Films (bout and hour away from Irvine) or Laika Animation Studio (Portland area) and go full Stop-Motion Animation.
