I’m a new player and just got my character to 120. Now every enemy 2 taps me. I know I sound like a noob and am going to get downvotes on this post or something like that but I really need help. My friend only replies with “just get good” but that doesn’t help at all. I need a dumbed down, like 5th grader (or even someone that hasn’t even ever played a video game before) explanation on how to actually understand what I’m doing. Every other 120 I see has like 300k health, I have 70k. I’m stuck, my items are trash and I don’t even know what to do. Please help.
World quest gear scales to your current item level so its best to get gear from other stuff first if you can (but dont let world quests expire!) The gear item level rewards on the map change instantly when you get a higher item level. .
There is usually cheap gear on the AH. 400 trinkets and 310 rings were cheap awHile back. Some 400 weapons. Don’t spend much though since a new expansion is coming and all the current gear will be replaced quickly in shadowlands.
If you buy a piece of gear you will not only be boosting that slot, but also every world quest reward on the map.
Some of this info might be a little outdated.

I forgot to mention use the Icy veins warrior class guide for rotation, talents, priorities, etc. It will greatly improve your performance.
The game is pretty rough when you first hit 120. As you’ve noted, there is a huge difference in power between a fresh 120 and someone who has have a chance to gear up. So, it’s not a get good thing, it’s a get gear thing.
I’ll give you a general outline of how you would traditionally gear up, but I want to point out that we’re almost to pre-patch, which will have some catch-up gear tied to the events. That means that if you just want to chill for a bit and wait, that’s another option.
You can run normal dungeons for gear. They are tuned for players with questing gear (as well as those who aren’t 120 yet) but drop really nice stuff. (They upgrade the gear it drops when new content comes out so it’s useful to catch up.)
Beyond that, your main priority will be to unlock world quests. The quest you need to complete for this is “Uniting Kul Tiras” (A)/“Uniting Zandalar” (H). On your first 120, you’ll need to do the 3 foothold quests to unlock the boat travel to the 3 zones of the other faction for this quest to be available. You’ll also need to get to friendly reputation with each of the 3 leveling factions. (Which according to your profile, you’ve already done.)
Next up, you’ll want to do the Naz’jatar intro. The quest should pop up once world quests are unlocked. If not, you should be able to get it on the boat. The quest to start it is “The Wolf’s Offensive” (A) / “The Warchief’s Order” (H). Follow those quests through to unlock essences and give your neck a large power boost. Magni will show up with the quest “Essential Empowerment” in Naz’jatar once you’ve established your base there. The final quest needed in that chain is “Harnessing the Power.”
Also, while you are doing the Naz’jatar questline, you’ll get a quest to upgrade a piece of Benthic gear. You can hold off on completing the quest and instead use the currency they give you to buy 4 Benthic tokens, which give you ilvl 385 gear which can give you a nice gearing head start. You can buy the tokens from Finder Palta (H)/Artisan Itanu (A). You can get more of the pearl currency by doing stuff in Naz’jatar, but until you’re a higher gear level, Naz’jatar is extremely rough. It’s designed for players to be ilvl 350+ at a bare minimum, and it doesn’t really start to feel comfortable until closer to ilvl 400.
Good source of info. Also, with the new expansion, a new event is coming october 13 which is apparently great for gearing up in. Although, you might die a lot in it, so consider doing some of the basic stuff in the video, and then doing the event. You will have to have shadowlands pre-purchased to play the event, however. And, as other people have said, it’s definitely a get gear thing, not a get good thing.
