I just purchased two character name changes on Thursday. (05-27-23)
I would have loved to use the Sale that just came up yesterday.
Could I possibly get back the equivalent difference of the sale back in Balance?
I did open a ticket and I was told I could not get a refund for a service performed last year? But it was four days ago.
Re-open the ticket, if you’re able to and ask again.
There are no GM’s or billing team members on the forums.
That’s in the future. Did you mean 04-27-03?
Generally no, it would most likely be a refund on the character service. However other things would also complicate things too - like if you’re played the character after the name change - as a refund would also require rolling back the character (if that’s possible).
Yeah, my bad, I meant 04-27-2023.
I thought since there was such a recent sale on character services ending in March that there wouldn’t be another such sale any time soon.
Shame though, I just missed one by three days.
I’m pretty sure I’ve read about other similar scenarios were people did get help.
Unfortunately though, they were not able to help me.
Honestly? I would reopen your ticket. It sounds like there is some sort of a disconnect, especially since refunds are possible for up to three (3) days after purchase up to 14 days after purchase (barring moderate use). I don’t know which ticket path you used, which could also potentially be an issue here.
I would explain that you just had purchased your services a couple of days ago and then a sale was opened up on those same services, and you were wondering if you couldn’t possibly be given the difference of the sale. If you have not used those services yet that you purchased? Perhaps they can offer you a refund and it will allow you to purchase them at the sale price.
While I know not every case is the same, I was caught in a similar spot as you a few sales back. I was outside of the window by a day or two, but since it was the first time I had requested such a thing, they were really awesome and worked out a compromise. That they’re mentioning last year is mainly why I’m definitely imploring you to reopen your ticket, I would even provide them the recent transaction number if for some reason it’s not reading under your account transactions for them to see.
For clarification, the Game Master would have looked at your transaction history for the specific service you mentioned. The last purchase of a name change service in your transaction history would be for the dates they provided.
The purchase you recently had was not for a Name Change, but for Battle.net Balance, as you were requesting a Name Swap, which is not a service that we offer, but one that a Game Master can help facilitate.
Character Service purchases have a 3 day refund window.. While technically the purchase was for Balance, it was used to assist with a Name Change Swap so the refund option would be based on character services.
Yup, was just reading over it again. I must have just lumped them in since the in-game items appear first in that but I do see where the services are outlined. I’m just a dunderhead.
Same thing happened to me, purchased character transfers a few days ago and now there’s a sale. I requested a refund but Blizzard refused because I guess I’m one day outside the window. As a customer this is definitely a feelsbadman.
