Yeah, I started Classic as a Human and right when I hit about level 40, TBC dropped, and I thought vampire elves was pretty cool. Didn’t know anything about high elves at the time and I was tired of playing Human so I dropped it and swapped to the Horde. I leveled to 50 and then when I realized BC was just more of the same thing I left until Lich. I wouldn’t have come back then if the recession hadn’t hit and I lost my job for a year and a half, plus I liked Arthas’s story more than Illidan’s.
I’ve tried other alts, but I don’t play them long since this is the max level toon I’ve kept up with since then.
I’ve been mostly Tauren my entire career, not gonna like. I just like their Native American Asthetic, Blood elves are pretty neat too 
I remember buying a player guide and being super hyped for Vanilla. Mining my first copper node was a magical thing.
But I know there is absolutely no way to recapture that again and the rest of Classic isn’t worth it to try.
Don’t worry friend, we usually have some kind of content drought at the end of an expansion, that time may be your chance to go play some classic.
Doesn’t matter how nostalgic it gets, I’ll never get that new player feeling back. 
Every now and then I toy with the idea of going back to AV but then I remember how much leveling that’s going to be and then I laugh at my silliness.

I don’t know, the thing wasn’t even called Genesis here, but I did have a Megadrive growing up.
I actually did not have one of those. Sadly, i had a genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, and then went Sony. Now, I am PC and consoles only for platform exclusives.
Speaking of Saturn, I had a copy of the original Legend of Dragoon I sold to someone at school for $20… One of those times you wish time travel was real.
Megadrive is a Genesis, they had a different name here for some stupid reason.
Edit: Nevermind just googled, the whole PAL and NTSC thing.
