Omg. The models… The graphics… My EYES! The goggles do nothing! They are horrendous. How can people play THAT after playing retail???

I am genuinely curious, so I’ll ask, how old are you? Pretty much everyone in and around my generation that I’ve spoken to, all love retro. Some of my friends would much rather sit in front of NES playing Super Mario 3, instead of hoping into a game made in the last 5 years.
While it doesn’t apply to everyone, I do wonder if it’s a generational thing for many.

It’s easy. Gameplay trumps graphics
To those that enjoy the gameplay of classic more than retail it’s easy to overlook the graphics.

It honestly wouldn’t hurt anything if there was a toggle option but I’m inclined to agree.
The classic models are fine. They are what they were back in the day and are part of the experience.
That being said… I hate the old water and left all the settings on “classic” except for water. That got slapped up to the max.

To this day I still replay Dragon Age: Origins.
I love the mechanics, I love the story.
I also still replay Mass Effect 1 - 3. The game mechanics are fairly meh, but the Story and the connection I have with those characters trumps the graphics, and silly bugs that appear on occasion.
I’m currently doing another playthrough of KOTOR now that it’s on Steam (I lost my original disk). (Pro-tip, enable V-sync to get rid of the can’t move after combat bug.)
If I could get Mechwarrior 2 and Mech 2: Mercenaries working I’d be playing those as well.
Graphics are not the be all end all of a video game. They can help, but story, gameplay, and mechanics will always have a greater impact on the game as a whole.

Would it hurt anything? No. Would it be classic? No.
It’s always been only classic, it was always going to be as absolutely close to classic as they could make it. Why are there all these stupid threads of people asking for bs things in classic that aren’t classic? Classic is what it is, and was only ever going to be that.

It’s like when I went back to watching a tube TV… it’s definitely rough but I think it’s more a person by person basis. It just doesn’t bother me when I went back to an older game with much different graphics.

True. I’m only saying that it wouldn’t hurt our classic experience if someone had the option to use the newer models instead.
Personally, I would never. The old models look great in the old world and the new ones look out of place.
There is the same problem but reversed on occasion in retail.

I started gaming when character customization meant you could choose different colored pixels for your outfit. All 12 or so pixels!

That would defeat a good part of the purpose of Classic, so no, there’s nothing bad about Classic using the old models/animations.
