It does sound like they are really going to downplay the factions after the tumultuous events of BfA, and the… ahem …mixed reception of the war story.
But Tyrande’s content in Shadowlands would almost have to be an exception, at least a little, since it’s about the aftermath of Teldressil. We’ll see. Should be interesting.
I would be pretty annoyed if the whole Teldrassil thing didn’t get mentioned. Of all the characters to let go of a burning desire for vengeance I’d buy Tyrande the least.
I’m guessing you heard “Tyrande in Ardenweald” and closed your ears afterwards… they said she’s going to be doing a lot of soul-searching, questioning Elune, etc. Not being a whiny damsel in distress.
She wasn’t a whiny damsel in distress she was more like a teenage girl complete with giving her guardians the slip to go eff around where she shouldn’t and treating her love life like the most important thing in the world.
Being a damsel in distress is waaaay more tolerable than being a teenage girl. I went to an all girls high school so I would know.
They could focus on what happened with Elune and the Night Elves risen as Forsaken, as well as Tyrande’s quest to find and defeat Sylvanas.
Most of the questline could work for both factions, but it would a little odd if there were zero differences when an Alliance versus Horde character is present.
What would be even better would be some adjustments for Horde, Alliance, and then Night Elf/Worgen player characters, to acknowledge that Tyrande is not really pleased with most of the Alliance at this time.
Sylvannas should have finished her and he stupid bear husband off. Dumbest characters in wow still alive somehow.

Honestly…I can tolerate Malfurion as long as Tyrande isn’t anywhere near him.
Actually being told this decided my covenant. I love Tyrande and if you inspect my char I have had a Darnassus tabard on all of BfA.

Darnassus is also completely tolerable provided you don’t visit Tyrande while there.
Plot twist: Elune knew and commanded Tyrande to work with Sylvannas. She did and all was good. Next xpac, Tyrande and Sylvannas were reborn and became twin sisters. Tyrande became a demon hunter while Sylvannas became a druid, and they both fell in love with a sun god worshipper named Kael’thas.
Would this be a bad time to mention I ALSO can’t stand Sylvanas?

I like how horde is already complaining about the little content night elves might get in Shadowlands.
…what part of I have an Alliance Druid alt are you having trouble with? It’s not the night elves I don’t like it’s one very particular Night Elf who if your honest with yourself you KNOW you hate just as much as I do.
And it’s the last chance of something good happening to the night elves ever and your posts are basically asking for it to be scrapped.

Also last chance for something good to happen to the Night Elves? You know they’ll have an expansion after this one right? Heck the longer you wait for the current writing staff to leave the more likely you are to get something that isn’t just “Malfurion!” on loop. Beyond that, you got a ton of Night Elf content during Legion. Some of it was even good. Espeacially the bits where Tyrande wasn’t around. Frankly I think blowing up Teldrassil was a waste of a lovely zone. But just because they blew it up doesn’t mean that they aren’t going to make a new city in like 6 expansions time when everyone complains about being forced to all hang out in the capital. I think you’re being alittle catastrophic about this.
You mean like they addressed Theramore and didn’t just forget about it?
8.1 was supposed to be a night elf revenge patch but instead it was turned into another horde victory patch and then the devs said that night elves got their revenge. Now we know that everyone that died in Teldrassil is in the maw and instead of giving the potential of being able to save them, you complain about Tyrande which is literally the only night elf character that still acts in a reasonable way.
Keep complaining more about it and we won’t see any night elf content in 9.0 as opposed to the little content we might get.
I complain about Tyrande because she is obnoxious and unlikeable.
I also very much doubt that me complaining about that will actually do anything to change what Blizzard are making. Espeacially since, I’m not asking them to get rid of it.
I think you live in this weird alternate dimension where complaining about a character = complaining about content that has that character in it. If they could actually make Tyrande halfway likeable I wouldn’t complain. The problem is they probably aren’t going to do that.
And we’ve been hanging onto Sylvanas’ coattails for 2 expansions. I’m sorry Tyrande annoyed you for a single zone.
