I just don't understand... (Evoker visual restrictons)

Well, it’s been fun… gonna enjoy that always visage mode.

 :troll:

On every class other than Evoker I guess then. Are you playing Mage perchance? Have fun <3

Oh, I’m sorry for picking a race I like in and RPG game and enjoying it for the lore! That’s my fault.

dude you are gatekeeping evoker cause you only want people who love the lizard form to play it lmao

Well, yes!

gatekeeping a class cuz others don’t like dumb-looking lizards enough is ridiculous

Yeah, that will help get you what you want. Just keep calling Blizz’s creation dumb or ugly. Lol.

  1. Demon Hunters are restricted to essentially one race (Elves) and it does just fine.
  2. Druids are forced to play in animal forms with no transmog and its typically the most popular class in the game.
  3. Range limitations are in place because of the class’ insane mobility. Evokers are easily the most mobile caster in the game. You sacrifice range for not being a turret. Even then, you have cooldowns like Spatial Paradox that gives you crazy range for a limited time.
  4. I hate to break it to you, but dragons are essentially fire breathing lizards with wings. You’re also not being serious if you think those huge bulky drakonids do a better dragon fantasy when they don’t even have wings.

We’re not gatekeeping the class. We’re respecting the design and purpose of the class. Essentially people are whining that they don’t like how the class was designed. Instead of simply not playing the class and playing something else, they’re spamming the Evoker forums asking for the class to be changed into something it was never intended on becoming.

I have no issue with asking for more transmog for Dracthyr forms. However, asking the class to be visage-only is a betrayal of what the class was made for, and pushes homogenization of the classes. Essentially wanting the Evoker class to be nothing more than an expanded variation of Mages.

I think both parties can get what they want. Should be able to do either or and also let us show our gear in dragon form.

Hard pass on your opinion. People should always have the option to make their character the way the want. It’s called immersion. And micromanaging how a player looks is really dumb puritanical philosophy that overtime rots the player moral long term. This all or nothing approach is not productive nor is it correct. Players should have permanent visage form should they want to. Evokers look hotter and more attractive in their human elven form not bipedal lizard form. Period.

If you don’t want to be a bipedal lizard, you have plenty other spell-caster options to choose from. Leave Evoker to be the dragon-based caster class representing the 5 dragonflights as intended.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t Disintegrate come from the dragon’s mouth? Which based on what I see when I channel it, it does. So you would still be in dragon form almost all the time.

I’m sure you could work around it. could do like a hovering beam a bit from the mouth or use the mage frost beam kinda thing. I just think folks should be able to do either or. It’s a game, let them play it the way they want. It’s not that deep.

its easy they just either open up evokers to all races or allow combat in visage form with other races as a option or even just visage form in general and do other races in the future.

its too soon for that. standard blizzard is to have a bad idea and ignore feedback (dragon flight) then double down on said bad idea (where we are now) and up next is they give in but refuse to admit they were wrong but they give the player base what we have been asking for. its blizzard and their pull the ripcord moment. it happens all the time in this game

ah yes demon hunters the class restricted to the most popular races is such a good example lmao. druids have different forms there not locked to the ugliest playable form in the game. if druids were locked into something that looked as bad as dracthyr you would be hearing about it. mobility is great i can use all this mobility to run around while things are out of my range and not attack them. give me a option to trade hover for 40 yds like every other range. watch how many people pick that over having the mobility. they do a far better job at the dragon fantasy than this lanky lizard.

Exactly, it’s such a weird puritanical and elitist take to say “if you don’t like it, then leave.” Guess what, a lot have left and it’s why it’s such an underplayed class. There’s a world where both people can exist harmoniously with a single glyph lol. Nobody’s fun or personal lore is being infringed upon, nor harmed.

This “argument” carries the same energy as “diversity and inclusivity for all except when I don’t like it” lol.

People play evoker over mage and other casters because the mechanics and spells of the class are fundamentally different and preferred. Aesthetic and cosmetic customizations are constantly being included into the game and are GOOD and HEALTHY for the game. Popping into dragon form for the breath spells (a la demon hunter and their demon form) would be such a good option to implement and those being gatekeepers need to get out more.

If they would just add glyphs in general. Evoker has 0. Not to mention they don’t actually add them anymore aside from the 1 if you’re lucky every 4/5 years. The profession isn’t very exciting without new glyphs.

My bet is that this will be a thing eventually. Possibly as soon as 20th anniversary when Dracys get access to other classes. They don’t have any glyphs atm, so this would track as a reasonable glyph for them to have.

So long as you have to pop into dragon form to use some abilities it’s w/e. I mean, how you gonna wing swoop or hover or tail swipe without wings and a tail?

My take is that because I’m not truly playing a dragon (the model isn’t anything like a dragon but rather a lizard), I also would like the option to stay in visage. If theme is so important, I don’t see how an effect similar to (I think?) the Nelth’s Call to Dominance trinket couldn’t be a thing for spells like Deep Breath and Fire Breath, where a ghost dragon appeared above your head or around the body of the player, or even a temporary transformation similar to what many have already suggested.
