And, the Cruel Barb didn’t drop. I really don’t want to continue, till I get it for this character. So, I’m gonna just log till the reset, till I get it. Please, Blizzard, consider letting us do multiple dungeons per day. If anything make it so only the first run gives exp and the rest don’t. I will only be doing 1 dungeon per day, and logging, till the Cruel Barb drops for me.

sounds like you solved the issue already and you are threatening Blizzard with playing LONGER so I assume they ll just lower the drop rate to “help” you out…cuz Blizzard lives and breates to help you personally in whatever you desire

I don’t plan on stopping playing at all. So I was already going to pay a sub forever anyways. It’s not a threat, it just is what it is.

I mean, for me personally, this would have to happen for me to keep logging into HC, but I understand that I am not the Classic HC demographic.

Hardcore was designed by the devs with the intention to emphasize open world content and player interaction in that open world. Devs said allowing dungeons as they normally operate hindered the server because players spamming dungeons and being inside an instance all day undermines the point of the hardcore server.

They said this in their video on the News page here, the Wowcast Developer Chat

If you find it not fun, the hardcore server is not designed for your type of play.

I 100% disagree with you. Yes, this is the intention of the devs. But, no, I don’t have to agree with it. The answer isn’t always just “it’s not for you, if you don’t like what I like”. I posted in hopes they may change it. Also, I added; just let the first run give exp and rest don’t. That way we can farm gear. This would make people not do them for exp, so people can live out their gatekeeping of how you’re supposed to play by seeing everyone in the open world. I enjoy doing dungeons, as well. Even if they give no exp. If they made it so only the first run gave exp, I’d still be running them, even after I got all the gear I need. Just because I love doing dungeons.

If they made the server how you described it, it would be very similar to a normal server. The devs said they allow dungeons only because they want you to have the opportunity to get dungeon loot and complete dungeon quests. This is the compromise for a player like you that wants to farm dungeon loot.

If they allow you to sit in dungeons all day it directly goes against the point of the server. So they said okay we will allow 1dungeon/day. The compromise you seek will never come because what you’re asking for is extremely similar to the experience you’d have playing a normal server. You’d contribute to making the server less special by not embracing it’s design philosophy, that’s why the devs implemented the dungeon cap to keep the server accurate to the envisioned design.

Only the first dungeon run would give exp, the rest would not.

The experience gain is irrelevant. You being in an in instanced zone instead of the open world is not conducive to the hardcore server. Nobody cares if you get no experience in there, the point is to make the open world lively. If you can’t spam dungeons, you end up grinding open world mobs, which again reinforces the design of the server.

You’re asking for something the developers said they decided to disable in order to facilitate the servers special ruleset. It doesn’t work.

Please explain how it would keep the open world from “appearing” lively? Sure, people might farm gear, but that’s not going to stop them from trying to get exp and being out in the world. Let’s say everyone decided to grind gear. When they get what they want, they’re back out in the open world, because it gives no exp.

I’m sorry that it’s not your thing to play more in the open world.
Pretty pleased that Blizzard decided to allow multiple plays of a dungeon but only once a day.
I really hope they don’t change that.

You just posted a few minutes ago that you won’t log in again until your deadmines timer resets. You’re actively choosing to not participate in what the server is offering and instead logging off to force your own play style.

Even though the developers said they put the timer there on purpose for the server’s ruleset to thrive. It is extremely clear you don’t want to play what the server is offering.

Perhaps you missunderstand what I mean. When I say I won’t be logging back in, till the dungeons reset. I mean that I won’t be on that character till they reset. I’ll be dungeon logging. I’m currently playing a new alt. I hope to max out my character count, so I can do a dungeon, then log over to another, and repeat till I’m done for the day.

Even if you could farm this dungeon endlessly; without excellent RNG like getting it on the first or second drop; the sword is not good enough to be worth the effort.

This is not even considering the fact that the time spent questing at that level range is roughly 20% faster than doing a dungeon.

once you also consider that you will out level that weapon crazy quick; the only reason to get that weapon on a farm is for a level 19 bracket PvP character or cosmetic.

What is the focus of your character?

Naw.

Nobody wants a bunch of lvl 19 twinks running around.

The focus is to have fun, and hit level 60 at some point. I’m not in any rush to do so either. The Cruel Barb is kind of a trophy piece. And, if you have it (at level) you either got lucky, or did the grind for it showing your determination.
