I liked some things (Necrolord, Torghast) and didn’t like others (Covenant class balance).
You hit the nail on everything that was good and bad. I just want to add it was criminal what they did to Arthas’s story. The Darth Vader of WoW treated so poorly…laughable.
begins reading the comments it seems to be true about what they say. The current expansion is always the worse expansion and the previous one is so much better than the current.
sigh idk why i visit this place.
If the expansion focused on Revendreth as the primary zone (on Azeroth), shrunk the castle and placed it on a mountaintop, increased the forest, filled it with zombies, werewolves and other monsters, made our hub a neat village, it would be one of my favorite zones.
Oh I did love the Maldraxxus Coliseum! That intro was pretty amazing.
No we are not from a different universe. Different people like different things. What the anti Shadowlands people have in common is that they believe everyone should think like they do or there’s something wrong with them.
I agree, Shadowlands had a lot of issues but at least the game world felt cool at times. It’s not all about the mechanics. DF has superior mechanics but the game world feels lame AF and I feel cringe being in it.
For me, the best zone in Shadowlands is Revendreth. The Frankenstein’s Castle design of the buildings mixed with Bram Stoker’s Dracula movie artwork is one of its kind. I had so much fun there with questing. I visit this area from time to time just for the feeling.
I actually enjoyed most of SL. I hated the maw, of course, but I think that’s a species level trait. I left for a while due to the huge content drought during season 1 and that crap with Blizzard employees, etc.
Revendreth is still one of my favorite zones in the game. I can’t wait to dragon fly there. Castle Nathria is one of the best raids I’ve experienced.
I’m not saying it was perfect or even great–but for me it wasn’t as terrible as a lot of people feel it was.
Me too honestly, was a fun time to play
OH look another shadowlands wasn’t that bad post. What was your favorite zone, “revendreth”
So you really didnt like the expansion, you just liked vampire aesthetic. Got it. Come again Edge Lord, come again.
I don’t miss it. BFA was already terribly bad, and Shadowlands completely destroyed the little spark of hope I still had for the lore. So no, I don’t miss it at all. ^^"
That’s not what they said. You read it that way because you can’t stand hearing anything positive about Shadowlands.
It is your *** OPINION *** and in the *** OPINION *** of a number of people who love to complain in the forums that it was not a good expansion. And you are welcome to that *** OPINION *** but that’s all it is. Many of us where pefectly happy with Shadowlands.
I miss commander tuvok making me feel like im playing star trek.
#Sarcasm
I mean, if you want me to list more things i liked about it i’ll go ahead. I liked the covenants and the variety of activities they provided, covenant abilities were pretty cool though defs needed some ironing out to make some of them work so i can see the complaints there. Lookin at you launch state warrior necrolord banner. The zones in general were enjoyable and i never felt like i was just spinning my wheels like i am in df zones, and i went into the expansion thinking i wouldn’t really like them and was pleasantly surprised.
The dungeons were also quite fun and I really hope we get a few of them in the next season of m+, plaguefall and halls of atonement would be my personal picks with mists of tirna scythe and necrotic wake as backups. Torghast was an expansion on the horrific visions in bfa and aside from some wonkiness in the first patch, it was quite enjoyable of a mode and my main complaint is how quickly you were done with it unless you felt like grinding out several legendaries or getting achievements.
