I have unsubbed. Not waiting for Dec 10

Is that really your counter argument to remove the WPvP honor period? ROFL.

Look, if people can’t hack it for a month, why did they even roll on a PvP server?

Play an alt, take a small break, whatever. Completely unnecessary to have forum tantrums over this.

But did you not know from Day 1 that battlegrounds would not be released until after the honor system began?

If the answer is yes, you knew that, then you also knew that between the start of the pvp honor system and the start of battlegrounds there would be a period of time where the only way to gain honor was by killing players of the opposing faction out in the world wherever they could be found. And that a 60 killing a 50 would still get some honor.

And regardless of that, people on pvp servers will gank/fight players of the opposite faction of whatever level if they were in the mood to do so.

So you are complaining about something you knew about from Day 1 and yet you still created your character on a pvp server.

I just don’t get this sort of complaint, it is without realistic logic.

Is it named Ceeyoo? :stuck_out_tongue:
I dint know about that. I followed Classic Dev Team pretty close and they seem legit commited to Classic, still.

Im past dealing with blame stuff, but truly dont think theyd develop Classic and hurry its demise just for spite, or upholding a slogan.

People came here because they were frustrated that the game they have enjoyed playing for the last few months is now unplayable. They don’t want to quit playing, but Blizzard made a sequence of bad decisions which has made the game no longer fun. Blizzard could easily fix the problems they created, of which a lot of people are still paying to play(their sub hasn’t run out yet), and they don’t need to wait till the 10th to do it.

So people like myself have come to the forums to both pressure and plead with Blizzard to not wait till the 10th to fix this problem. Every day that goes by just hurts the game even more. The 10th might as well be January or February.

Nothing good comes out of waiting. No one is going to quit because you released BG’s early, but plenty of people have already quit because of phase 2.

No one thought it was going to be this bad because it has never been this bad. Not in vanilla, and not on the private servers.

I’m the eternal pessimist and I thought it would be much worse than the private servers, but this has even exceeded my extremely pessimistic expectations.

Lemme throw this into the rant translator…

“I rolled on a PvP server to gank people and I’m getting ganked instead, this sucks, I’m suppose to be the ganker!”

I don’t understand why you “I just wanna have fun” types rolled PvP to begin with.

Allow me to try.

At the start of Classic, the vision of PVP was that an environment where skirmishes would happen. Sometimes you ganked. Sometimes you got ganked. Sometimes you had the numbers. Sometimes the other faction did.

Now, the landscape of PVP due to faction imbalance is 10v1s. Boat camped. Flight Masters in contested areas (WPL, EPL, etc) camped. Full raid on BRM takes a 45 minute corpse run. This doesn’t jive with the impression of PVP when people started.

This is not a question of PVP, it is more fundamental than that. It is overall World population balance.

Regardless of faction balance or imbalance, these things would still happen.

You have Asmongold, on a nearly 50/50 server complaining just as hard as Alliance on Skeram, why? Because their alliance don’t seek out PvP while the horde do, leading to it feeling imbalanced anyway.

No amount of faction balance would change your encounters from 10v1 to 1v1, people would still run in massive death balls and gank at will, and sometimes huge groups would form of 30v20 or whatever and whoever had more numbers/healers would win…just as it is now. There are alliance on Skeram, mostly rogues and druids (stealth) sitting in every bottleneck/chokepoint in the world ganking solo players (and ONLY solo players, 3v1 or worse) all night long.

Thats just how people play the game. They want to kill and never die, I know every PvP death I suffer annoys me to no end and puts me off, and I’m a Skeram horde.

The real issue with these servers is simply over population, not faction balance. These servers were not designed in any function to house 7000 players at once like Skeram has at peak hours, it makes it rather horrible, my guild wants to move (but not to Heartseeker, screw that) just to get away from the population because there are 2 mega guilds on each side that control the server and every item on it. Black Lotus on Skeram Horde are 100g+ a piece and I’d venture 80% or more are owned by Onslaught. You can sit at a Lotus spawn for 1 hour and see no less than 30 people run through and leave, clearly only there to check the spawn, thats obscene.

The players made bad decisions by rolling on PVP servers. If you don’t like constant camping and ganking, you shouldn’t roll PVP.

This has never been a realistic description of wPVP at any time in WoW’s history.

I don’t believe that - apart from it being a generalisation. I spoke to people, watched streamers and they were all waiting for the honor system to hit so they could start the grind. And that grind involved forming groups to kill as many of the enemy as possible each day to start the way up through the honor ranks.

And you can’t really compare Vanilla and private servers to Classic. The numbers are hugely different, and most of us knew that fairly early on. Server queues alone gave the hint to that.

I’m not saying it’s good, but its not totally unanticipated. And I think people need to sit back a bit, take a breath and wait. The numbers will decrease as those not interested in sticking around through the whole Classic game leave. Battlegrounds will help a bit, but only so far because I’m sure that 10m premades will (certainly early on) dominate the battlegrounds.

RawR I want to play you say? Seems that is what the receiving end of the imbalance is saying. Why is one side better than the other? ( hint: getting 5-20 or more to one is not “playing” )

“How was blizz to know the balance would be this out of wack.” ?? Answer: They have had the server balance information for months is how.

Think of it this way with faction based server queues the Imbalanced faction gets to experience a queue similar to the queue (hint: waiting to rez timer) to the players on the outnumbered side.

Pretty sure none of this is coming, so calling it P3 is misleading.

The game isn’t unplayable, though. You just don’t like the gameplay on PvP realms.

Reroll on a non PvP?

Did you only want to play PvP if your faction was winning?

I’m just getting sick of seeing all these whiny threads tbh.

PvPers crying about too much PvP.

Honestly, the schadenfreude is almost too good. You’re giving me chills now.

Just to clear your guild and toon name checks out…

I expected people to be doing what they’re doing, what I didn’t expect was the sheer magnitude of it. I figured there would be a couple hundred out farming honor, but it has been more like a couple thousand.

I expected to be ganked a few times an hour, but that would largely be isolated to a few hot spots. I didn’t expect to have thousands of people desperate for honor, searching in even the most remote and obscure locations.

The gameplay on PvP realms wasn’t like this until last thursday. And it was never like this in vanilla, or on any private server.

My faction is winning and I still hate it.

It is unreasonable to expect anyone with a level 60 on a PvP server to reroll. Not only because of the time it would take to start over, but because this entire discussion will be moot once BG’s are launched. All anyone is asking for is for them to release BG’s a little faster.

This isn’t PvP by any reasonable definition.

Will BG’s really fix this? I feel like people will still continue to gank in the masses.
