There seems to be a cap when trading gold between cross-realm alts. Amounts 1 million or over seem to do absolutely nothing, but 999,999 gold and less trades are working.

Yeah, just tried this mailing stuff to my alts, both with gold and items. Nothing can be sent between my characters on different servers. Area 52 and Turalyon are both in the same circle, so this should be working.
Seme, just tried sending gold from another toon to this one. I got a mesage saying mail cannot be sent to that realm.
my guess is cross realm mailing has either been delayed, or they only meant cross realm trading and not mailing.

CROSS-REALM TRADING
Players will now be able to trade items and gold directly to characters on other realms in their region. Previously this was limited to things like conjured items or eligible raid/dungeon loot, but all those cross-realm restrictions will now be lifted. Play with your friends and trade whatever you want to whoever you want!
Yeah, that appears to be the case, which is honestly pretty dumb. Guess I’ll need to bug a friend later to move some things.

Where people got “mailing” I have no idea.
I was worried that mailing would be a thing, but it isn’t so that will limit the effects on economies. This also opens the door to offering cross-realm trading services for a good chunk of change 
ah, so some people mistakenly thought it also meant cross-realm mailing. i’d have to reactivate my second account just to transfer stuff over to my main realm, but its honestly not worth it just for a few items here and there. probably better off transferring him to said realm instead.
not sure what the point of it is. cannot trade items with an alt on another realm since i can’t group them for them to see each other. Does this actually change anything?

Why the HELL would they allow cross realm trading but not mailing? That is so god damn stupid that if this is the case I wont’ be able to decide if I should be livid or just confused at the stupidity of it.
I have a feeling that this is their foot in the door so to speak to allow mailing our alts later. I’m but a simple armchair developer, so I don’t really know what’s involved, but I’m guessing it’s complicated.
It makes sense, sending over a million cripples the economy. Server transfers via shop method also prevent gold cap I believe.
No. Not really. Considering you can already send BoA items across realm, it wouldn’t be complicated at all.
on the PTR - you could mail gold between servers
all this helps is the whales take advantage of multiple auction houses because they have multiple accounts running all the time.
