It’s more like having to pass a 100 question test in an hour, and only having 10 questions done in 30 minutes
Maybe it’s a difference in interpretation, but I don’t read the OP’s statement as hitting a limit.
If we are double the key time and not near the last boss, i’ld leave too.
However, the OP is pretty explicit in staying that they leave if they don’t see the key being timed. That’s a different situation than the one you describe.
Is it though? You still get a reward at the end, right? Just your key goes down because you missed? That doesn’t sound at all like the same, because you’re still passing (completing the dungeon) just not getting the extra credit (higher key).
Why would you assume that the 4 other people in this instance were there for completion? As has been mentioned earlier, you can 4 man these if you don’t care about the time. At least in my experience though, most groups collapse completely when a person drops. Funny how that works.
to play devils advocate… if you are trying to get 15 meta chvment for that serpent thats what you have to do.
It only coutns timed dungeons… and honestly sticking around knowing you wont time it hecka sucks.
like if someone dies to rezhan in ataldazar from getting chomped… instantly leaving.
I was doing a 15 SotS this week.
After we went spent 10 min on a dps who died twice from tentacles, they left.
Since we only had two ranged dps, we could not interrupt “consume essence” regularly enough to down the boss.
It’s not always possible to 4 man.
And my point is that, finishing the dungeon, and timing it are almost 2 completely different game, played for different purpose.
For the OP, there is no point in just completing it save for a potential for a purple for DE, hence there is no reason for him to stay.
It’s about progression, not taking part.
LMAO! Good job giving the leaver a free key completion and gear if it dropped for him. Leavers after key start still get counted as being there when a key is completed.
Allot of the reason most people dont want to stay to complete a failed dungeon is because we dont want the loot.
Like, at this stage in the game… theres zero value in staying.
even for arguments sake, if someone where to seek a piece of loot… a untimed run gives 1 piece to the group.
Thats some pretty bad odds to get the piece you wanted.
and even if it does drop its going to the scrub who caused the depletion ( most of the time )
Amen!

Interesting take on keys. Frankly, I never leave–by that I mean, I never rage quit and never leave unless someone else does. I time a fair number too, and maybe you quit and have your reasons, but I like the Echoes and even made a suggestion to Blizzard prior to Echoes that they include some kind of currency reward for completing a key.
In my case I reason this way: When it’s going really rough, but people keep at it, I see it as a pleasure to keep going because the people in the group are not quitters. They are determined and that is commendable. And when it is rough the healing can be hard work–and can be tiring, so to quit and not early is not only to waste your time, but your energy too.
Also, since you can keep increasing your corruption resistance, the value of Echoes is not going away.
Just my two cents.
Is this a public “if you see me in queue don’t invite me” tread?
And you’re a priest. The worst kind of person playing the worst class. Bad times.
I think people greatly underestimate the FACT that you STILL get something in your weekly chest. Even if you are over time.
Please explain to me, why it’s better to quit, rather than at least finish the key.
My main is a priest. Disc is a meta healer–meaning one of the best. Holy also has the highest HPS of all the healers–albeit this may not show on the meters for various reasons, but for pure HPS, you can’t beat a holy priest. If you don’t agree then your opinion flies in the face of every experienced healer who has healed on all classes, not to mention the best of the best Mythic raiding guilds. As for the OP, he is an interesting character, and I know him from other threads. He seems to get a charge from shocking people.
I think it’s a good idea to include a stat that tracks keys that failed to complete.
Something that also affects one’s raider io to manage party behavioir
I mean it’s pretty lame when you wipe on the first boss. It’s also lame to abandon a key.
I think they are talking about mythic+ not raiding. 2 very different animals.
No, Disc is trash. Holy paladins and resto druids are good. M+ is not raiding.
