I have not yet managed to complete a solo shuffle

Title. The leaver problem is kind of incredible right now and this new mode that I was really excited for seems completely pointless because of it.

A deserter debuff is clearly not deterring anyone. The leaver needs to get a rating loss or some sort of actual deterrent so matches can go to completion.

I really really like the addition of this mode! Please do not leave it in a fairly unplayable state

They lose 6 matches worth of points… but I guess if they already lost 4-5 they have no reason to stay.

It’s a clown bracket in prepatch but it is funny.

They don’t have a way to severe punish without destroying folks who actually DC.

They do. It’s just that they’re already going 0-6 so they figure they may as well also deprive everybody else of their points. Address this then the tank/dps/dps format and the mode has a lot of potential.

I haven’t had a leaver issue yet. I’ve only played 4 rounds. However, I’m inexplicably at 2k mmr and every one up there may not leave but there’s a 50/50 chance they’re a sociopath that braids dolls with their sister’s brush hair.

Had a guy this morning rage in round one, sit AFK for 4 rounds, then in round six sit AFK and then leave when he was about… 5% health left. We all got basically nothing as a result and he got to troll 5 people for 20 minutes? And because he is ally and I am horde I have no way to click and report him after the match is over? So frustrating.

Nah just severely punish repeat leavers like first time shouldn’t be that serious but second time should be like 2 day account wide deserter buff

If you have an unstable internet connection and already dcd once you shouldn’t be queueing up again unless you know your issue is fixed

Right but that’s not how it works.

Ive had a buddy DC twice in a long q sesh… ive had crashes occur

heck… priests can MD force DCs from time to time.

Getting a 2 day ban bc I had a real DC and then some Priest MC bugs me would be rough etc/etc/etc just as example.

Get out of my house

I’m the police and I’m bringing you to the psych ward.

2 days is way too excessive but definitely scaling deserter buff. 20 min, 1hr, 3 hr, 24 hr. Something like that. Maybe 1 level of punishment per day. Like if you desert 3 times in a day. The first one on your next day will be 3 hours instead of 24.

In addition to discouraging leavers, the other 5 players should go to the top of the next queue as well. It’s really discouraging to sit in a 10 minute queue, have someone leave on match 6, and get nothing out of it… except the chance to sit in another 10 minute queue.

Queue times will improve during launch and moving forward… a ton of people don’t care to queue because its prepatch and useless.

I have lost 45 minutes of game time tonight in 2 x 5 round solo shuffles (8-12 min queues) where a sore loser quits at start of round 6. They would rather take deserter than let the winners get points. Time to start suspending and banning repeat offenders to ween the sore losers out of this game mode before it costs you subs Blizzard.

This is a classic example of the worst gamers on the planet. The same people who will gank a low level player until they quit the game. The same person who will deliberately crash a server. The same person who will gather a group and murder everyone at a raid entrance and never let anyone summon a group for 10 hours straight. People will do this BECAUSE THEY CAN. BECAUSE BLIZZARD LET THEM. The only solution will be escalating suspension and bans for repeat offenders.

Could the answer not just be you get rating and conq for every win? So if you only do 5/6 rounds before a thumb-head rages out but you have 3 wins, you get the rating for those 3 instead of basing it on all 6? Then just make it so anyone who leaves gets nothing plus an account-wide time-out for rated PVP and off we go.
