This is a great post. People do “job” WoW way too much.

Go explore and have fun. (note: grab some sugary soul crystals at a butler in the timewalking caverns and then fly over water. It’s hours of drool worthy exploration and it enables you to see the very bottom of the ocean floor. I have found boats that I didn’t know exisited.)

I actually wrote a short story about my Night Elf Hunter’s experience while leveling fresh from Teldrassil. I would do some quests, write a little bit about how she would feel while doing those, and just do that back and forth. It really made that “intro” leveling area so much more interesting. I wanted to do that for all her leveling but… I really do quite enjoy dungeons… so I stopped when I got the quest to leave the tree.

(Edit: It wasn’t long after this I moved over to an RP server and actually feel so much more at home in the game than I ever did before)

OP, ur spot on. Playing the game to have fun and not obsessing about min/maxing makes the game so much more fun. I do things in game that i only want to do. Once it feels like a chore im not into it. And the devs have really moved the game towards a good balance between the hard core and the casual/fun loving playing styles. U just have to play classic a bit to see that if its not clear.
Welcome back.

OP, all you needed to write was that final paragraph. Well, that’s all I read so I hope that’s the case
