I have become a wow refugee

Oh that’s just the start of it. The new tos rules can be read online.

guy who threatened to kill me got maybe a 1 week to 1 month ban.

Guy on another forum said the warning that came with him telling a healer to use protect (their version of power word: fortitude) was that the ban would be 6+ months if he was reported again.

Which is total nonsense as reality is not based on your perception. Though the endless self-aggrandizement is really going to let you fit in.

Actually, its been a rule of thumb for me for about…what…forty years? I find it works quite well.

I note that, amongst your “experiences” you have said little to nothing of any positive nature.

Why is that?

Because the only positive experiences were with friends I met and played with. Even they were just depressed when they logged in by the end of my two months.

Thats odd again…I know people who have been playing for years and none of them have said anything remotely like this.

I just find it…strange.

When you are outside of the echo chamber of “call us nice or else,” things are different.

Not buying that for a second. I think there is a lot more to this , Im not going on any further.

There is more, and I have been explaining what that is all night. That you refuse to look deeper is on you.

Im not buying it, and I think there is far more you arent telling me.

Done with this.

There are things I could say, but it would be unkind to say it.

You will forgive me if I dont blindly take every word you have said as gospel. Far from it.

One last point: that parable I gave you has been a guiding principle for me for decades. It has stood me in good stead, and quite frankly, is nowhere near “nonsense”.

You will find this happens in real life as well, you cannot walk into a new job or a new friendship circle without submitting yourself to their norms. Trying to bully your way to the top is not going to get you very far either in game or in life.

Why does this forum default to a different character every time I log on?

Ooh, I’m the “bully” for not submitting to actual bullies. Feel free to live on your knees, I will not join you.

If you won’t report them, then that’s on you. Using DPS meter is against the rule anyway, so I have seen people say that if you want to use it, use it, but don’t be a jerk about it in game or people will report you on it.

That being said, not all people who use it are jerks to begin with and actually use it to improve themselves and/or their party. That’s why SE turns a blind eye toward a DPS meter unless you are using it to cause trouble.

Tbh I get tired of all the XIV shilling that goes on these forums of late (I quit XIV for WoW, if I wanted to read about how supposedly awesome it is I’d go to their forums), but even I have to admit that I’ve never seen half the stuff Iandore has described in my experience playing the game. Healers telling tanks to use pots so they don’t have to heal? LOL wut? Heal pots are useless in that game and healer kits are so overloaded with high potency instant cast oGCD mana-free heals that it’s basically 0 DPS loss to heal a tank through a trash pack in a dungeon. Players shaming you for parses? LMAO anybody who has played the game knows that will get the player in question a ban, so nobody says anything even when people are terrible.

The game has issues, but not like the ones you’re describing dude.

Oh, oops, I was thinking about stat boosting pots, not healing potions, because those are mostly useless outside of certain scenarios, lol, my bad.

Pride had nothing too do with it

Uh? Are you playing the same game? WoW is definitely not the same and it’s changed for the worse. People who deny this are quite hilarious to see and are naive.

No they weren’t, all someone had to do was join one of many guilds that didn’t care about how you acted/behaved towards those outside the guild. “Server rep” was never as big of a thing as people seem to think it did.
