I have been having an absolute blast BG grinding the 50-60 bracket on my Affliction Warlock but now the toon is 59 and about to hit lvl60 and the moment that happens the fun STOPS!
Why the h*ll are you fighting the community on this? I PvP because I enjoy PvP’ing, not for the gear. Imagine playing Overwatch but the people who have a higher rank do more damage??? Hardly anyone would play that game, just like hardly anyone PvP’s in your game anymore
I simply do not have the time in my life to dedicate 2 nights a week to raiding. I simply do not have the time to be able to play a game every night for 2+hrs. I am an adult with family and responsibilities I simply do not have the time like I did in my teens or 20’s
I’m sure that millions agree with you but Tim in marketing and Bobby need another bonus so you can kiss anything that doesn’t require people buying tokens, goodbye.
Unless of course you’re one of those “amazing” players who are sooooo amazing no matter what.
He isn’t wrong. Find someone 51-59 to queue with and you can party sync into the 59 bracket indefinitely. There is more than a few people doing it. I’ve seen a lot of MM hunters doing it as well as some monks and ret paladins. I’m doing it on my resto shaman with my 60 warrior bnet friend, using my 51 druid on a second account to queue us in.
You are about the same power level as a 58 - 59 leveler. You are synced to 129 ilvl gear which isn’t even that high for the bracket. It’s unfortunate that you can’t use stuff like gliders, enchants, or any on use gear except the heirloom trinket and neck.
Well of course they are enjoying it more than spamming level 60 BGs with bad gear. Most of us have been playing far too long to still put up with that process. A 60 in fresh gear gets one shot in this meta. Fun.
since pvp has been out this has been a thing. in wrath, when you hit 80 you were the squishiest target and every1 went after you, same thing cata, and so on. also, its legit the the same thing for every other game. when you hit the max level and you have no gear, you underperform. whining about this is a joke. if you want to make a legit complain about the ranked conquest gear then sure, different story. but crying over people who are geared, have done their honor grind and stomp u is a joke. When you dont have time to play the game you should just not play. it works like this in any video game ever. even if youre making a terrible comparison like OW to wow. if you only devote 30 min every couple days to playing the game you will not be a lot of progress on getting better. only thing i could side with you is how much honor you need to grind.
Sounds like you want the best advantages and keep people who may actually be better than you down.
I liked templates in Legion because people who thought they were good at the game got a reality check in the BGs but now they can grind 10 hours weekly to get the BiS and think they are good again. This expansions pvp at 60 is a joke.
I really don’t think this is exclusive to shadowlands tbh. Until they added scaling it was always a thing. Then people complained about scaling so now we’re back here.
Most people don’t mind the grind. I certainly don’t. The problem is waiting in LFG in order to start the grind is what I think needs looked into. Forcing players to get into groups so they are better at random battlegrounds ( which is a single player aspect of the game ) is pretty dumb.
Also, Wow is the only game I can think of where you start at such a huge disadvantage when hitting max level. In todays game, players are getting 2 shot in max level honor gear. This is after grinding the full fricken set. Then they get their conquest ( un ranked ) and still die in a 5 seconds or less.
So ya, I’m crying over getting stomped because I put in just as much time as the next guy. It just wasnt sitting in LFG because this guy dont like that style of game.
At least in Wrath when you went through that honor grind and bought your PvP gear you were at least competitive (you could feel it as you bought each piece of gear). Now you have to buy the PvP gear and upgrade it I don’t know how many times, all so you wont be one shot (a person in fully upgraded Honor gear is NOT competitive in SL)
You cannot compare Wrath to the junk we have in Shadowlands
Dude, it’s an MMO it’s supposed to be time consuming. PVP is bad, but not for the gearing reasons… if you don’t enjoy it or don’t have “time” don’t do it. Find something else if it’s that much a bother.
No. I am a father of 8 children, I have 2 wives and a side girl, I work three jobs. I only have 5 minutes per week to play this game. I am a paying customer, so Blizz needs to cater to me.
That’s a band-aid solution that doesn’t address the actual problem. PVP at 60 shouldn’t be holistically inaccessible just because of gear. You used to be able to acquire honor gear, and it was only a set number of ilvl below Conquest gear. Over the course of a handful of weeks, you would be able to acquire a full set of Conquest gear. However, the disparity between the Honor and Conquest gear was not so great that the game was effectively unplayable. Getting a full set of Honor gear could be done on a Saturday afternoon. You can get the full set of Honor gear in that time now, but upgrading each piece entirely takes multiple Saturday afternoons, at which point half of the season is over and what’s the purpose in playing?
Gearing (and some class imbalance, but mostly gearing) is the precise reason that PVP is currently garbage. I’m single, gainfully employed, no kids, and in grad school for Economics. I can find time to play, but nowhere near the amount of time Blizzard expects me to play, just to gain an ENTRY LEVEL set of upgraded PVP gear. We haven’t even accounted for the time it requires to get rating for Conquest gear and the honor to upgrade that. The current system is horrendous, and only basement dwellers think otherwise.
I don’t agree, I believe it’s 90% class imbalance and over tuning of damage. It doesn’t take long to get the starter gear… plus most BG level along with dungeons, so most of the time there’s 15k honor to start at 60 with. That gets the base of it all.
