I think it’s a neat concept, and I think it’s cool that one person can put it down for their entire group, but holy cow these things are annoying and not worth it.
You finally get your group made, and get everybody to the dungeon aaaaand somebody put down a sleeping bag so guess we’ll just spend the next 3 minutes doing absolutely nothing after finally being ready to start the dungeon
I’ve had it as bad as players wanting to drop them before each boss in BFD so they get a tick of rested to boost the xp of the boss kill (?)
I think XP boosts are antithetical to Vanilla in their entirety, so my solution has been to simply not do the quest chain and not use the sleeping bags, but there’s no way to actually avoid this retail minded fluff from impacting your gameplay. Also still pretty annoyed you can’t turn off the discoverer’s delight from 1-25.
it’s for if you need to go to the bathroom or something, when AFKing is unavoidable so you might as well do it. not for holding up an entire group at the beginning of a dungeon lol.
It’s a pretty easy fix. Make the buff stack at 20 second intervals so people don’t fall asleep waiting for it. It’s only a 3% buff and mostly a fun cosmetic thing. No reason to make it a drag every time someone drops one in a dungeon group.
You realize that every 10 dungeons you do thats 30 minutes of downtime right? 3 minutes is a freaking ton, and it’s not after 2 hours of gameplay it’s at the start the point when everybody is ready to play the game and doesn’t need a break
So like, The sleeping bag is supposed to be a fun thing that gives a minor buff and makes people giggle a bit. It isn’t to crazy to ask the buff stacking time to be reduced so people aren’t dreading every time one gets dropped in a group.
It’s in the spirit of the item to begin with. I don’t think the guy’s being to unreasonable with this one.
yeah when I first heard of sleeping bags I thought it would be a way to log out and gain rested exp anywhere in the world. that’d make a lot more sense.
