I am cool with mobil gaming but I hate that all the good ones have massive road blocks if you dont spend any money. I am willing to spend money on a game if it is good. But if the game will not be good unless I spend money auto delete. Also games with forced ads.

LIke if a game gives me the option to see an ad and thne get something out of it, sure no problem. “Yes I will watch an ad for that x2 speed” but force me to watch an ad? delete.

Predatory cash grabbers. All of them.

I used to really enjoy this one that I totally forgot the name of. It was basically a medieval version of a certain type of game. You collect items, farm materials, build a base, craft and explore. However, it had that thing where you had energy and you have to spend energy in order to travel to collect items. Travel time was real time, so it would take me twenty real minutes to arrive there-unless I pay real cash. Real cash also could give you items and armor so other people and monsters couldn’t maul you to death immediately. It felt pretty unfair after awhile, so I dropped it. The only game on my phone is Hungry Dragon and I play that in waiting rooms.

I have a flip phone. Worlds just fine and I never have to worry about making butt calls.

It serves a market for people who can’t console/pc game because of financials, or internet access, or when they are away from their devices.

The problem is a vast majority of it is over monetized predatory shovel ware.

Phone games are awful. Anyone playing them is just being scammed.

Like any other game industry there are some good ones and some bad ones. Overall I love games so I love mobile games as well. I just avoid the super cash grab ones.

I’ve played a couple decent ones but I think they were all ported from steam. Slay the spire, dicey dungeons, etc

I tried some out of curiosity, they’re pretty bad and I won’t touch them. Even simply having to watch an ad give me ptsd today.

Mobile games have a pretty wide spectrum these days, they range anywhere from low quality, predatory cash grabs like Raid: Shadow Legends, to those that tread the line between quality gameplay and predatory monetisation like Genshin/Star Rail, all the way to just ports of games that came from PC or whatever, like Stardew Valley, which are carbon copies of the original and have basically the same price tag etc. just optimised for mobile.

Nope. I don’t play mobile games, because I can’t hold my phone like that with my RA.

Some mobile games suck. Some mobile games are good for an hour or two. Some mobile games are good and can keep drawing you back. Can really just take out the mobile and it applies to all games.
