I’m going to sum up the issues so everyone understands.
Since the Union was created, Blizz can no longer allegedly abuse immigrant developers. This means no more 16 hour work days with no overtime. This means no 10 days straight without a day off. This means that Blizzard’s budget for TWW does not stretch as far as they thought it would a year ago. It’s still quality work. It’s just a much smaller end product.
Anybody who wants to deliver quality products to their customers will still do it.
Being union doesn’t mean we’re suddenly Europe and people are blocked from entering their workplace because their mandatory 6 months of annual vacation just started. (Only slightly exaggerating, there… )
The trick is to actually hire people who care about delivering a quality result for the customers. Blizzard doesn’t do that, because Blizzard’s hiring is all about nepotism.
So your complaint is that Blizzard outlined EXACTLY how the release schedule would be paced, well in advance. It’s obvious you know about it.
And yet… here you are complaining about it. WHEN YOU KNOW IT’S NOT STUCK at level 3, but is simply waiting for the full release schedule of everything else that rewards the next/first tier of actual game content.
It’s one thing when the weatherman says “50%” chance of rain … and you complain when it rains.
This thread is some dullard walking out into the middle of a hurricane that you’ve known about for a week and are wondering why it’s raining and windy???!!!
I believe we are in agreement. I would just add that if you want the highest quality work you have to pay the going rate for those kind of developers. The Union guidelines for software developers mostly consists of scheduling, overtime pay and benefits. Blizzard allegedly doesn’t have the best track record for this recently.
In blizz’s defense they haven’t raised prices for subscriptions in a LONG time and the expansions are relatively the same price aside from price gouging for 3 1/2 days early access.
I think if people were willing to pay an extra few bucks a month then the budget could stretch to new additions that would actually excite players.
For example,
Players are always begging for player housing. Go search a Wild Star YouTube video on player housing. Some really insane player housing was available in that game over 10 years ago. The technology was and is definitely available. Blizz just has to start pay top developers again and then find ways to recoup their investment.
If you’re referring to an ESPP, the employees still have to use their paychecks to invest. If you’re already allegedly being overworked and underpaid and you have to afford housing and taxes in California? Good luck.
you are a heroic raider - content aimed at you hasn’t begun yet.
And what I am doing on the forum is waiting for my items to show posted on the auction house - they don’t show in the panel but 6 of them have already sold according to the chat and those aren’t showing up in the panel as sold either
Totally agree with you. I feel that the questing nonsense really needs to go. Gatekeeping things behind quests every single expansion. It’s been like this for WAY too long. I appreciate that we get warband rep now so you don’t have to do the same quests on all characters, but how about invent something NEW. Like where did all the creativity go? I know the music and art department. The story developers just got the short end of the stick.
I hate professions too. I didn’t both doing them all in DF, and I won’t do them all in this xpac.
I like that there is more to professions before but the time gating is what drives me nuts. I don’t want to feel like I have to log in every week and do DMF every month or I fall behind on my profs. Games that try to control my time, typically get uninstalled.
Hero Talents/Skills: the bloat is absolutely insane. Every single class needs to be like ret. Give 4-5 things to manage and that’s it. All the people wanting to have more intricate skills will thank me when you get older and are suffering from carpel tunnel and arthritis in your fingers, hands and wrists. NO WAY is it fun to have to piano any class.
I don’t even have space for all the crap that frost DK has…like who thought that would be fun? Then you look and they have like 1 million passives. Classes need to be redone to be SIMPLER and bake in stuff.
Bugs: I enjoy looting 60% of the time, especially with laggy servers that won’t always let me click that ore so I have to mine the node twice. I enjoy seeing my guild bank STILL missing 1/3 of my items. Absolutely should have beta tested this expansion more.
Delves are boring and I don’t like the follower…he is annoying.
Only win I have seen so far is follower dungeons and not sure why they aren’t able to do heroic or mythic 0…that would have been a bigger win. Who does normal and needs followers after a certain point of gearing?
