I just got banned for:
Account Action: Account Closure
Offense: Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs (Hacks)
The only programs I’ve ever used are add-ons from curse forge. I don’t cheat, I never have in fact I’m an upstanding citizen of Azeroth and receive blue mail saying thank you all the time! What can I do to prove my innocence? The thought of 14 years of achievements and grinds gone in an instant is unbearable. Literal years of my life deleted. It feels like I’ve been shot. Please help with any advice you can offer. I didn’t cheat!
Nothing you can really do - all you can do is appeal. The appeals team won’t talk about it, nor would they take any info outside of their internal logs.
Recently some players also declared the same but had unwittingly hardware or software on their PC that is deemed cheating, by having this on or using these you’re marked as one.
Think about hardware macro buttons (e.g. mouse macro’s) or AHK software etc. I will be venturing too much into it but these are examples of why an otherwise completely clean player would inadvertently enter into a cheating zone when they don’t want to.
I don’t use anything of the sort.
As the others mentioned there isn’t anything you can to do to really prove anything. An appeal is used for our staff to take another look at the actions that were taken and determine if the evidence supports the action or it doesn’t.
If it does not the penalty will be overturned, if we cannot otherwise verify that an error was made in the originally findings, it will be upheld. In some cases your issue may be escalated for further review, in which your current tickets will be closed, but they’ll reach out once they have the final results.
Good luck, Twizzlers.
I know you’re feeling upset, but you’re putting words that Vrak didn’t said there to get upset about. There’s always going to be cases where human nature comes into play. Regardless of what may happen, folks can and will make mistakes. That’s what the appeal team is for.
Nobody is autobanned. Period. And nobody is banned or suspended without a human Game Master investigating.
One report or 300 - if the player did something to warrant suspension or banning, it’ll happen. If not, the player won’t even know they’ve been reported. Again, it’s a human GM investigating and applying any appropriate suspension or ban.
Nothing of the sort was said, nor is that how it works. Mass reporting doesn’t not just automatically result in account action. The ONLY thing that could happen to an account that is mass reported is that it would get a squelch which would silence the account until a GM can review it. All reports are reviewed before action is taken.
What Vrak told you was that there is an appeals process, that process involves another GM looking at the account action to see if there were any errors made in the initial action. It isn’t a venue to argue a case nor will they accept any evidence. They are ONLY looking to see if the initial investigation was correct.
Also GMs have never resolved appeals in “real time”. They are investigated and then judgement is made. There has never been an ability to plead your case.
As I said, what you put looks like an advertisement. It is only your explanation here that would make me think otherwise.
You also were not banned, you were silenced. It is a system we have had for a long time to squelch possible spam advertisers.
The volume of staff you are talking about is just not feasible. The “with as much money as you have, etc…” kind of statements aren’t really rooted in reality. No company simply throws all their money at something because they allegedly have it. Not only is that a waste of resources but no major company functions like that.
Please wait for your appeal to be reviewed.
