Good point there. As a training guild, most personal progress is accomplished when the gear is at an appropriate level, so mistakes/bad habits are noted, and improvement is easily pointed out as well as felt.
Everyone geared so quickly that I feel it gave a false sense of improvement when actually the mistake tolerances just widened massively.
Granted - I’m not into the math behind it. Merely stating how it looks and feels to me as we train. Perhaps the difference is statistically small. However, even if statistically small, the impact to the drive to improve is a negative and slows the learning curve, not to mention makes the next gear reset more impactful.
Its not though. Its just not. Not liking something and using it doesnt make you a hypocrite. I dont like taking cold medicine, but i take it when i need it. Doesnt make me a hypocrite
They see something that they dont like and are voicing their opinion on it. Nothing more. Youre reaching
The pro titanforge camp just don’t seem to get it. There is so much welfare 400s being tossed around like candy that titan forging would hardly be missed.
Yes it is nice when you personally get a max titanforge, but it is harming the health of the game in the longrun
I would disagree that the PvE portion is a competitive experience (unless your competing in a tournament or competition of sorts), PvE WoW is a cooperative experience and while competitive aspects do exist (World First races, parses comparisons, etc.) it’s all community driven, the players make it competitive and because of that you have a choice to have it be a competitive or a cooperative experience. For me personally it’s healthier overall if you focus on working together and cooperating over thinking of everyone as a opponent to beat.
A change from focusing on competition (Bob got a 425 pair of gloves from a WQ, that’s not fair since I got a 415 pair from Mythic) to a focus on cooperation (Bob got a 425 pair of gloves from a WQ, maybe progressing will be a bit easier and if he gets another pair maybe I can get a upgrade!) works wonders.
I mean, I guess if you want to take that stance. I’ll take the stance of… I’m not a selfish douchebag who hurts my teams progression because of my own personal grievance.
Not to mention the small fact that… I may not be allowed to continue to partake in the content with my team if they found out I was purposely sabotaging our progression.
If you see an azerite piece 420, it’s because he upgraded it from 415 to 420 when he reached the required neck level… it’s not warforging or titanforging.
Here is the door for trolls like you >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Most of the things you said is true, it really comes down to do you prefer temporary excitement or fullfilness. Titanforging does not bring you fullfilness, since whatever forged, whether its sockets or stats is based off luck, not your efforts for defeating the boss.
Again, you play for you… Let me play for me. I enjoy the cooperative competition. Cause that’s what it actually is… That isn’t an either or. We’re playing cooperatively, to compete against others who also play cooperatively. To state that mythic progression teams are in zero competition with each other just shows that you have no idea how that scene works…
Mythic raiding, particularly the final bosses, is hard… very hard… So hard that many players literally don’t have what it takes to do it. As such recruiting is a huge deal. Recruiting quality players so that you have relevant progression is actually very challenging. If you’re currently a 3 night a week team and you don’t already have Jaina down… You’ll be scraping the bottom of the barrel for recruits… If you’re a Sub 100 guild… you pretty much have your pick of the litter.
It’s like you seem to think that I’m incapable of thinking at all outside of the box. Of course my brain is happy for BoB when he gets that 425 piece. And a tiny sliver of me curses it wasn’t me, but that isn’t what I’m focusing on. You’re thinking about this on a one dimensional scale. You’re not looking at what it does to the player base overall and you’re not even arguing what my primary point was in the first place.
TF is RNG. That’s it. It provides nothing in the way of content.
Would I be happy for my son if he won the lottery? Abso-freaking-lutely. Would I be as happy and proud of him as if he founded his own fortune 500 company to get to the same spot? No… I don’t think I would.
I never said you were “douchebag.” I am just saying the matter on what you are arguing about is hypocritical.
I also never said sabotage your team. I am just stating that you get something, don’t complain about it.
In life you are lucky or unlucky. Sometimes you are just one of those people that turns the right way, opens the right door, and so on. That is chance of getting something, even if you feel you do not deserve it. Feelings should not be part of it. It is like working in a job, and you get a raise for it. Did you do the job? That is all that matters. You did the job, therefore you earned the raise.
That is fine. Don’t op out of it. I am just pointing to the case of complaining about getting gear and then using it. It just makes a counter-productive argument.
