Theyre going to allow your class to hold other weapons. A sin can use duel sabres. a Trooper can hold a sniper rifle, and etc stc. Its going to be so cool to have the ability to do that. People have been asking for this for a very very long time.
We can expect all of the cool looking gear, that should be obtainable in the game like in the most recent Spider-man games, to be in an online store, while all you can obtain in game looks crap in comparison.
I was one of the fools who bought the $150 collectors editions. EA and Bioware failed to deliver on all the goods.
I took a lifeboat when TORtanic went FTP.
Oh I know how their f2p system works. That’s why I said it is better to sub to the game vs spending money to unlock things that shouldn’t cost anything to begin with. Like a credit cap which is extremely low. You have to buy dungeon/raid passes weekly. You have to pay to unlock bigger bag space. Plus sooo many more petty things you have to pay to unlock without a sub.
This is why SWTOR has probably the worst f2p system of all the f2p mmos.
Played SWTOR off and on and I have the same issue as FFXIV. The UI is too damn limited for a game with such proc-y rotations.
God, I REALLY want to join in the FFXIV exodus but I can’t stand having to stare at buff/ability bars during combat. Enable addons dammit! Stop relying on 3rd party programs to do your job Yoshi!
I bought the $150 version as well. Still got the box with all the goodies but the statue you got has seen better days. When the game did go FTP it brought back some life until the people seen had much you had to spend to play for free. I would mostly spend my in game currency when people put it on the auction then real life money.
Like DC Universe and a very few others SWToR is a great MMORPG, but WoW has always been the best in its own class at the top. That’s why it’s still going strong and making Blizzard tons of dough.
You’ll get to choose your story. but you can’t choose the Jedi story and play a trooper.
The jedi/sith stories/classes are in one group. and the tech users are in one group. so you could pick a bounty hunter story but have the playstyle of a vanguard trooper. its pretty interesting and gets me excited for the game.
however WoW still does dungeon and raid content better than all mmos in my opinion which is why I keep coming back
Well, it is not necessarily going strong in terms of player activity, and it is not necessarily earning blizzards tons of dough because it is the best.
All games with microtransactions of some sorts in them, tend to bring in a lot of money due to the microtransactions alone. Blizzard in this case, have the benefit of selling in game currency to it’s players, high-quality store mounts, race, faction and name changes. The microtransactions are always the greatest source of income, and it is why many games with microtransactions often end up focusing more on the online store, rather than the game itself.
In World of Warcraft, we see this in the quality of the store mounts and in game mounts. The store mounts does not have replicas, their design are often extremely high quality, they have unique animations, effects, etc. In game mounts are often replicas of each other, their design is low quality comparatively, their animations are replicas of other in game mounts.
SWTOR is a great single player campaign and a decent game, but the MMO aspect is severely lacking. I played it for a year or so on launch and it was excellent, it just died out very fast and had little content.
I haven’t ever done any operations, but the flashpoints are a lot of fun. I like how they are story driven.
I love how you can now do a flashpoint with NPC’s instead of having to be in a party with other players. For anyone who hasn’t ever played SWTOR, flashpoints are like dungeons. They added that ability a while back and I wish WoW would implement a similar system for their dungeons. And no, I’m not antisocial in an mmo. I’m quite social, but because of limited playtime and despising the go, go, go mentality that has taken over the game, I don’t enjoy dungeons anymore at all and would actually be able to enjoy them again if WoW implemented a system like SWTOR.
As far as the PvP in SWTOR, really didn’t like it at all. I got soooo sick of huttball lol. I just wasn’t a fan of PvP in the game.
But SWTOR is a good game. I played it in the betas and for a while at launch. I still go back to play on occasion. The story is great. Unfortunately they took the route of WoW and dumbed the game down with removing talent trees, making leveling stupid easy, group missions now being easily soloable, etc.
It’s a game where you are better off paying a monthly sub if you really want to play. The restrictions for free to play are some of the worst I have saw in any game. You can’t even hide your helm, show titles, or do many other things without paying for the ability in the cash shop or being subbed. I always subscribe when I go back to play for a bit.
