I get maintaining the classic feel, but give Prot Paladins a Taunt

No. This is dumb. Unless you’re going to redesign the Tank swap mechanics from here until… well… present-day Retail… just no.

I bet if they changed Blessing of Protection to completely wipe out threat from a target the #nochanges crowd wouldn’t even know. After all nobody really pays attention to how paladin spells work anyway.

That was how it was before patches ago. So it’s still in the realm of Classic WoW.

Does it not make sense? One change will justify any other change that “makes the game better, or fixes a class” To me, this looks like a snowball effect. Where the changes start to stack up. Could you describe how it’s not?

Wait for tbc then :slightly_smiling_face:

…what?

When has Taunt ever not placed you at the top of the aggro list in contrast with the AoE Taunt which is a temporary fixate but not a true taunt? That distinction was alive and well throughout Vanilla…

Yeah spending money just to tank. Yeah no…

I remember a time in Classic WoW 15 years ago I never had to use taunt. DPS players instinctively and actively knew how to manage their threat. I just generated more threat than they did and never used taunt. That’s how good we were back then. But look at it now. This change in Taunt just make people sperg all over the place.

It was changed throughout the patches. Taunt used to not give any threat. It was just a way for the warrior to force an enemy to attack him to get some rage and to keep them from hurting others.

We’ve been over this, personally :kissing_heart:

Let me clarify, I fear a ripple effect will occur, if we begin OKing certain changes.

It makes sense, which is why people often commit the logical fallacy. In practical terms, each change must be evaluated on its own terms.

For example, the basis of a second change can’t solely be “because we did it before.”

I’m not advocating for any changes, at all, but I also don’t agree with the conclusion that any change necessitates more changes.

The price is what, 20s per stack? Oh, and, dps and heals spend money just to dps/heal. Why baulk at it when it’s tanking.

But, the part I mentioned about one change being the justification of any other change means it’s the basis of thise changes.

I’m afraid an opposite (adjective) slippery slope is being used to advocate/push for more changes.

classic tbc awaits you thats when prot pallys got taunt.

It was kinda bland by then…not much challenge from how I remember it.

You mean the “change” in Patch 1.1.0 where we got Racial Traits activated and the game went Live for all?

Holy crap… so Taunt for all of Beta-release until LIVE it acted like Mocking Blow and Challenging Shout…

I can’t wait for a mention of shields vs bucklers next…

tbc was still when prot pallys got their first taunt and ret got crusader strike and rets were gods back then.

Yeah, but it comes with the side effect of having to stare at the back of a space goat, or a belf, and ceding Alliance raiding supremacy so thanks but no thanks

Ohh! Can we make enhancement a viable tank spec to compensate for paladin buffs? Earth shock dealing increased threat along with other abilities that are threat generators only prove shaman should be able to tank. It would be great to even the playing field for the horde.

LOL…no, I like my classic the way it is.

Shaman tanks are actually about on par with Paladins.
