I get maintaining the classic feel, but give Prot Paladins a Taunt

No one is going to change your mind about a thing with the attitude you present here, you couldn’t even quote the full sentence to place it in the correct context, making it clear you are just trolling.

Contextual understanding and reading comprehension are essential skills in life, i suggest you educate yourself.

I was a warrior since beta, and even then i didn’t know that i would have to be THE tank. Once i realized it i accepted it and loved it. I tanked everything from Vanilla through WOTLK. SCREW Cata because they absolutely broke warriors and threat at the start of the expansion and that’s when i quit.

Yes, the “attitude” I present here is that I will continue doing what I have been doing, have been doing since the beginning of the game, and others can play how they would like to play the game.

The greatest problem with paladins tanking in this game is other people’s claims of what they can and can’t do, which is something that Blizzard can’t fix.

I’m not sure how that can be an objectionable position to hold, but feel free tell me how I should listen to someone who isn’t even playing the game if you’d like to convince me.

I’m well educated, but resorting to personal attacks is not something I’ve seen among my colleagues.

Is resorting to ad hominem something you consider a marker of education?

Hey, good for you. You keep tanking those dungeons for your guild, it’s a selfless and good thing. Don’t pay any attention to any of the problems the class has in raids since you don’t do them.

I don’t do raids? You rely on a unique debating tactic.

You know what you know and you even know what you don’t know.

I assumed you tanked raids and you took offense to that. So I assumed you don’t tank raids. And since you seem to only care about Paladin tanking (and claim that’s what you do), I assumed you thus don’t do raids.

Do you raid? Do you heal? Or DPS? Or do you off-tank? What do you do, that you claim to do so well?

Where did I take offense?

I believe I wrote that you are free to play how you play and I’ll continue playing how I play.

I believe I also wrote that there was no point in arguing with you since you are going to argue with me regardless of what I say.

I didn’t anticipate you would argue with things I didn’t say. That was a twist.

I would like to offer a thought. While paladins being given a taunt would be good for the game. Any change, such as this, would then justify any other suggestion. Eventually snowballing into a different game.

If Blizzard would give paladins a taunt, then not make any other class changes, it would be a good thing. But, moonkins would need more sustain… and it would not stop.

Proct paladin not alone to be useful in game…

I’m not convinced that paladins having a taunt would be good for the game. Your conclusion is based on a slippery slope fallacy, though, so it’s not logically defensible.

Are you really going to play this game? I stated I didn’t believe you when I thought you claimed to raid tank - and you asked me where you said that you raid tank. Now you’re playing the word game where you dance around the topic without actually answering anything.

If you’re a troll, you’re dedicated. If you think you’re smart and are arguing well, you are not.

I’m doing the best that I can, perhaps it’s sub-par.

I’m not putting words in other people’s mouths or committing logical fallacies, though, so there’s that.

It would be good, the the sense that it would give paladin tanks what other tanks don’t have, a taunt. But, that wasn’t the point of my post.

Just be a good pally and heal the real tanks.

I understand. The “snowball” part is based on a logical fallacy.

How do you mean, “what other tanks don’t have”? Did you mean that other tanks have a taunt and this would put them in the same place?

Mana is the limiting factor unfortunately, and the lack of potent TPS.

The thing is Taunt itself is a flaw. It’s too much of a crutch for dps to be as terrible as much as they want and the warrior tank has to babysit their threat levels by using it. Blizzard shouldn’t have changed taunt to give you the highest threat on that target and just leave it as a way to force enemies to attack you so dps actually has to manage their threat. Lot of raids think they’re good but they’re all playing easy mode with the warrior’s taunt.

Well its because they’re objectively weaker in every regard, and Taunt or lack thereof, is only one of many shortcomings that Druids and Warriors overcome and then some.

If you want full support as a Protection Paladin, wait until Burning Crusade.

That’s how Blessing of Protection works
