I GDKP’d all my gear, Lv 58 Boost + SP/SLabs runs until 70 then instantly joined a SSC/TK GDKP and got 4 set T5 along with a couple accessories here and there, used badges on trinks, ran a ZA GDKP to finish off some ArP items here and there and snag a Bear mount.
Total: 12 - 15,000 gold (picked low competition GDKPs so got some cheap pieces)
I go into BGs now and although I do get blown up cause of no Resil, I also blow up other people too due to how strong some PvE gear is stat wise and I take less damage due to higher raw stats even with low resil.
Tbh even with all this gear the game is boring, the only real content is weekly raiding which I can now get into any group I want due to having gear and start building up logs/joining guilds but honestly who gives af?
This is like a glorified private server, probably more P2W than actual private servers with little to no moderation.
I see people walking around in Glaives with trash logs, everyone and their mother seems to have the Bear mount not to mention 90% of people look the same because they copy the same tier list.
GG Classic, you had a good run but even WoTLK won’t be able to save this.
If you had fun gearing, then that was the content for you. Get in, do some stuff, get out, move on.
It seems Blizz knows this, and it sheds some light on some questionable decisions they’ve made. Getting money from players before they quit makes sense with a short term focused business model.
Yeah I think this is what it is, it’s not like they can magically add content to Classic so it’s more of a drip feed cash out for them for an easy $15/month.
Why not? Consider a hypothetical scenario: tbcc pre-patch launches and everyone choses to remain in Classic Era. What kind of message do you think that sends to the dev’s? However instead of making them scramble for an answer to that situation, the community chose to greenlight 3+ years of them not having to worry about it as they just shovel rehashed retail expansions at 'em.
We could be exploring novel Classic content at this point had people more foresight.
That would actually be the ideal situation if they did that, but I think profits matter more than spending money on creating content people actually want.
You’re late in the game tho, this is last phase, everything is unlocked and there’s a lot of catchup gear so gearing will be fast, no wonder you’re done so quickly, GDKP or not.
Game is not dead tho, there’s just a slip dip because it’s last phase, some people cleared SWP and moved on and we have people waiting for Wrath.
i would like to see cata classic even if they do the harder dungeons never saw them when they were in retail due to being in school and having only managed to get cata and time when 4.2 was released.
You cheated your way through the game, yet ended it with likely trash gear and just some upgrades. Ofcourse you are bored and feel stupid later on.
If you are invincible in a videogame you will get bored too and quit. Stop cheating, start playing. Starting this late also is no comparison to how hard it actually was to gear in phase 1 with only 1 token per boss each and incredibly bad rng and everyone needing the items you want as they barely dropped.
Because they are not going back to fundamentally change the story they have already told.
You’re asking for “Classic+”, which is an idea that no one could ever agree on what that should or shouldn’t be, and would have to go in a radically different direction than the one already taken by the game that eventually became Retail.
They told you upfront they were never going to do that, and that this was just a chance for you to play the original versions of the base game (and the expansions they decide to launch afterward) in as close to the original form as they could.
They only realized after they started the project that there were some tweaks they could make (that had they been around when it was launched they probably would have done like the buff/debuff limit increase in Vanilla).
LONG before it even launched, there was a call to move beyond Classic Vanilla.
Most people that I talked to had said they were more interested in Wrath than Vanilla or TBC. For most people, Wrath was the “sweet spot” for the game and the one that most people wanted to experience again.
I missed MoP the first time around, but despite that regret, I hope they never do anything past Wrath. Cata was hot garbage and would be the worst expansion if WoD didn’t exist.
All I did was skip the 200+ hours or something it would’ve taken to get that gear and I essentially reached the same conclusion I would have had I did it the normal way.
I’m glad I skipped it all because I would’ve hated myself more for grinding it out, it’s not worth the time.
