I finally did it, dudes!

After a good amount of strategizing and plenty of trial-and-error, I have finally done it.

What have I done? I figured out a viable Wintergrasp Offense strategy that can be done with a full PUG group (no premade was involved).
Check it out:

In Shadowlands, one of the biggest changes to Wintergrasp is that the Demolisher Ranged Attack became bugged. Specifically, it would not do any damage to the inner walls. This made winning as Offense VERY difficult, to the point where many folks resorted to just giving up, rather than even trying to win.
So I took it upon myself to figure out a way for Offense to win. And not just a one-in-a-hundred lucky win against a horrible Defense Team, or using a strategy that requires a full premade, but rather one that anybody can perform that would require Defense to make some sort of effort to counter-play it.

Firstly, because the Demolisher Attack is bugged, I had my raid use only Siege Engines (and Catapults to kill players) when attacking the wall. My strategy also involved defense of the southern towers (and to what extent they need to be defended), in addition to what walls exactly need to be attacked (I admit, it’s a bit flexible, as folks didn’t attack the EXACT wall I wanted lol, but we still won).

We also made the essential decision to go to Broken Temple, instead of clashing at Sunken Ring, at the start of the game. In case it isn’t obvious, unless your team is insanely overgeared, clashing at Sunken Ring is heavily favored towards Defense. Thus, I opted to use an alternative opener.

I am not here to say that Wintergrasp Offense does not need tuning, or that it is not more difficult to win than Defense, but I just wanted to say that if you really do want to win, it can be done. Don’t think that just because Defense is favored atm, you should just give up if WG Offense pops up on screen. In fact, the cockiness of the Defense team may play to your advantage.

But anyway, I’m not yet done. I need to win Offense a lot more times to prove that my strategy is viable on a consistent basis and does not just require you just get lucky once in a while. Until next time!

What a weird world where we pay to debug a game. Wonder how long demos haven’t been doing dmg to inner gates

I’ve noticed that demos also do no damage with their ranged attack to southern towers. I wasn’t sure if that was intended for some reason, but you have to use the ram do damage the towers.

so basically just build sieges instead?
