I feel like I'm at a loss with the content of Dragonflight

Well I loved the artifact weapons to death. But the class halls and demon hunter class really one me over. But the world quests and mythics sold me as well, it’s just now those things were so defining they Blizzard integrated them into every expansion afterworld. That and the patches were pretty good, especially 7.3. I literally couldn’t stop playing Legion back in the day. It was like getting a medium rare steak every day as I tore threw things with my Demon Hutner over and over. I literally couldn’t stop killing demons and it was fun every time.

This is a very good example of the corner cutting.

Tbc, Wrath, Cata, MoP, WoD, Legion, and BfA all had faction specific questing.

SL and DF have not. It is just one more thing contributing to the loss of the Warcraft feel of the game. May as well officially merge the factions at this point.

This. I feel like there’s sooo much to do. There’s the raid and M+ both of which have thus far been great for me (I was skeptical of reusing old dungeons, but now love it… seeing the old dungeons in M+ format is real neat). All of professions got revamped, and I need to dive further into that. There’s multiple world events to take part in with various skill trees to level up (did you know there are climbing WQ??? I just found out about this yesterday, excited to look into it). All of the dragon riding races were awesome and I can’t wait for them to release more.

Finally… I can actually level alts and go play them immediately.

In other words… yes there’s a lot of stuff that was there previously, but I now actually have the energy available to actually partake in that content… Why? Because I’m not grinding torghast on 3-4 alts, or grinding AP… or grinding out essences… or grinding out mana pearls… or grinding out ‘insert w/e mandatory grind AND upkeep grind we had to do to not feel like second class citizens in end-game content here’ …

I assume that is the point.
With lower level mythics now awarding LFR level gear, I assume they are trying to get more payers (specifically the more casual base) to do this content.

So those 3 things are the only other options for content out there?

Each renown track has a way to constantly build rep in a way distinct from dailies, unless you mean like, full on ‘do them every day’ dailies like we had in SL, which most people disliked because of how onerous it got. Outside of SL I don’t think we’ve had much in terms of dailies at all since… MoP? So beyond Mythics your specific preferred content is something that was present in the game as a feature for two years out of the last eight or so.

I’m not entirely sure why you wouldn’t have enjoyed the leveling experience for DF, it’s very flexible and quick, and is an improved version of what they’ve done for ages. Was there something specific about it you disliked? Because if not I’m again going to go with burnout.

All of those things can be done in a weekend of playing a few hours a day. And then half of them cant be done again until the next weekend.

I’m not sure I would say burnt out. I have a way I play Wow at this point where I enjoy playing a new expansion for the first few months of a new release. Take a long break then come back for the patches for a little bit.

But this time it just seems like these things people are naming as content, I just really don’t consider it to be fun I guess. It’s strange that this expansion’s content revolves around something like digging up loose soil, flying and picking up artifacts as things named as content. That seems to me like just extra little stuff that shouldn’t be listed as main things to do.

I’ve played numerous nights, and multiple weekends and have not done them all. Unless you were trying to specifically speed through them as fast as possible with the express purpose of getting them done as fast as possible… No they can’t.

In other words… if you inhale content as fast as you possibly can… you probably shouldn’t be shocked that you ran out of content.

If they did they’d make my renown account wide.

The problem is you have those with alts that see the game as amazing since they can do everything on 6 different alts and it not be overwhelming. Then you have those that have 1 maybe two characters that have way less to do. I dont bother with PVP, and getting into mythics has become akin to putting in a job application and just not worth the headache. So yeah there isnt much to do

What are you doing then, sitting on your hands and talking in Valdrakken? The only thing you listed that takes more than an hour or two to do is raiding and M+. Professions would, if they werent time gated.
World events are mostly weekly, or you are grinding repeatable events for pennies of reward. They get completed in 5mins anyway.

You said you play for hours but just found out about climbing world quest yesterday… That gets introduced at dragonscale exped. renown level 6. Yeahhhh “numerous nights and multiple weekends” eh?

I found it actually overwhelming with all the options I had to grind out renown. Even with world quests popping only twice in a week. I am at a lull in the action waiting for reset for the world events and weeklies but I appreciate I don’t have to log in for many hours every day just to get stuff done. I also have a modest 360 ilvl from really just keeping busy on the map and a few random heroics.
If I wasn’t a casual, I’d be raiding, running mythics, maybe some BGs or Arenas.

I don’t even want the leveling experience to be quick. I view the leveling experience as one of the ways I remember each expansion. Just didn’t seem like like a lot of significant events unfolded in the story so far. And I get that it’s still unfolding, but it’s Blizzard’s job to make that story interesting while you’re in there. That’s why I liked WoD and Legion’s zones so well. They had an introduction and a grand ending to most of them. Those zones were almost like self contained little stories, that when all put together played off of each other to support the over arching story. Which is how these expansions should go. DF’s leveling experience there has been minimal impact for key storyline characters and not that interesting final events experience by the end of the quest chains. Most of the zones just relied heavily on getting the Aspect to claim their oath stone and there might have been a little resistance that needed to be overcome to get that done.

But maybe that’s it right there. I like WoW and it’s lore rich characters. And with many of them being absent, it’s left a rather empty emotional feeling from me on the story so far. And I like the dragon aspects, but they don’t pack a punch when it comes to being as interesting as characters we’ve been following for 20+ years. These characters should have been incorporated in and more high stake quest chains should have been added in as well.

That “lull in the action” you are feeling now on the weekend, others are feeling a few hours after the reset since thats all it really takes to complete those.

Wasn’t the complaint that there was nothing to do? that seems like something to do. Or you just looking for stuff to complain about because your a miserable person

DF is pretty much Shadowlands 1:1. Crafting spec and dragonriding is Torghast. New talent trees is legendaries and conduits. Everything else is identical but with a balance pass and new coat of paint. They sold us what they always sell us.

That’s the neat part! There isn’t any!

Same here.

I’m a casual solo player. I loathe pvp and I’m not into pet battles.

The only DAILY thing to do is the bloody fishing, which is, at most, 7 minutes of meh. I’m not at max renown because I don’t know how to exploit the system (but I need renown 24 with the Expedition to “continue the story”). My ilvl is 377. I have loremaster, explorer, and every dragon glyph. My quest log has TWO quests–one dungeon quest and one raid quest. I’m honestly not thrilled with the DF dungeons, and I haven’t even touched the raid (again, solo player). I’m super-friends with Wrathian and almost maxed with the Azure Assembly. I have the scrappy worldsnail. I have enough Elemental Overflow to sink a ship. I’ve done Dragonbane and Grand Hunts. I even have the snowman achieve.

Which is why I spend most of my time just farming herbs and ores (i gave up alchemy cus it sucks this xpac). I’m bored.

What happened with the dailies?

I didn’t realize that torghast which was required to run for legendaries is the same thing as dragon riding… Holy f that statement makes me worry about you procreating
