I feel like I'm at a loss with the content of Dragonflight

That is literally the case about everything. People on the forums represent a tiny portion of the playerbase and most people who post a lot here don’t even seem to play the game, they just like to complain.

I think the thing is a lot of people DO want grinding in the game, but for a lot of people any sort of grind with a reward is mandatory. So then it becomes mandatory grinding

Not to mention, when people list the content that is available in game, they typically reply with something along the lines of “What I meant was, there is a lack of content that I like” which is not the same as “There is a lack of content”

You are right. But the post acted like this dude is the first to ever say that there is a lack of content, when it is one of the most posted about things on the forums and websites where players post their opinions.

Yes, Legion was the start of getting small expansions. But man are they really pushing it now…Like I said, these zones should have been packed to the teeth…They weren’t

And now I don’t agree with that these zones were similar to those other expansions and had big pay offs. Not at all really. I don’t remember most of them and don’t recall major storyline characters either being there or doing anything significant to push the story along and make it interesting.

As for the Pvp, Blizzard has mentioned specifically in the past that Pvp would be dictated by the story of the expansion and whether that story allowed and warranted for it to happen and be created. BFA was the perfect expansion for it and they just didn’t care. Didn’t want to spend the time.

And I don’t care what their marketing is. The fact they aren’t flaunting their sales figures tells you everything you need to know. So it’s fine if they want to settle for a quick cash in. But this isn’t sustainable long term. They’ll keep getting less sales figures and they’ll keep having people drop out after only a few months. Eventually those people won’t return at all…

Like I said I want them to succeed, but I think they have to try harder. And it should have been relatively easy to do with their years of experience.

I don’t understand people that play WoW but

  1. Don’t raid
  2. Don’t M+
  3. Don’t PVP
  4. Not into completionism / achievement hunter

and complain.

Do you willingly go to Pizza Hut then complain about not wanting Pizza?

They are, you just don’t want to do any of the content

And guess what used to be the most posted thing on forums and websites? People complaining about too many grinds and mandatory world questing and too many systems with borrowed power. It’s almost like no matter what Blizzard does the complainers will come to the forums.

I think this is the case. It’s very formulaic, Horde and Alliance have the exact same level experiences and story. There used to be a team for each faction. They create dungeons with mythic+ in mind because they don’t have to do anything more with it but just scale it and slap on modifiers. They then have ‘infinite’ content they don’t have to hand craft.

I’ve noticed since BfA that the zones lack textures and personality except for some zone such as Ardenweald. Most feel like big lifeless zones with animals thrown in for filler. I think they use the technology that is used now in open world games. It auto-generates landscapes and then they can just add some customization. It feels more and more like this with each expansion. I noticed it first in Legion and seems more obvious each expansion since.

There has obviously been a decline in content/budget with every expansion since Legion.

Legion had more than BfA, BfA had more than SL, and SL had more than DF.

DF to me feels like a glorified patch. And not a particularly good one.

The zones are so massive I’m still finding entire quest chains by accident as I fly over them that I missed beforehand. There’s more stuff to do for people who dislike instanced content than ever, and you can do it all on your own time without worrying about falling behind.

I’m curious as to what content you actually like, honestly, because even my immensely casual self only runs out of things to do a day or so before reset, and that’s with the xpac being less than a month old.

Maybe you’re just burnt out?

These zones are huge and packed with tons of quests. Have you tried traversing around on the ground to see just how huge they are? Dragon Riding goes stupidly fast, so you don’t realize the expansiveness.

I hit 70 in the Plains. I only just finished all of the quests a few days ago. And I’m still finding quests places. :woman_shrugging:

They spent the time— the time to give everyone a chance to engage in the faction conflict storyline with Warfronts.

Okay, so you don’t want to have a real conversation. Got it.

This is what usually stands out to me in threads like these.

You list all the content and they’re like, “But I don’t like any of that content, that’s all the content that we always get in WoW,” and it’s like … yeah? Right? Because it’s WoW?

Some people would benefit from feeling free to step away and try new things more often, I think.

What content did Legion have specific to that expansion other than the infinite artifact knowledge grind that people came to hate??

Yeah they have definitely sacrificed zone detail. It got really obvious with the SL patch zones and now with DF.

Well my main gripe is that every expansion for a while now really tried to bring in things that were exclusive and time sinkable into the expansion, yet it seems this one didn’t bother because they knew they couldn’t give it the proper time needed and they’ve been heckled in the past for not doing a good job at it. Dragonriding is exclusive to this, but it’s just a way of transportation really. it’s not really content. It’s just a different way to explore and see the content.

I always really like the leveling up experience in WoW games, and I really didn’t care for this one that much so it’s already left a bad taste for me. I don’t even remember any of the quests that well except for the dragonmaw orc side quest where he was guilty of receiving help from the dragons.

I do enjoy mythics, and will get into some raiding. So I still do those things, but I was a person who liked dailies and building up rep in previous expansions, where it seems that is still here, but it’s been time gated in a different way now. And time gated in a way where they “Removed” stuff once again. That’s what I see is a constant pattern of taking away and not adding. It’s bothersome and worrisome for the franchise.

World quests/emissaries and Mythic plus were brand new at the time. Then there were artifact halls, artifact weapons/abilities/appearances, classes were redesigned. Demon Hunters were a new class that were a lot better than Dracthyr.

And keep in mind 7.1 launched less than 2 months after Legion did. And that brought Legion invasions, Suramar questline, 2 new raids, Karazhan, etc. After a few weeks, people were already looking toward that.

It’s almost like they want to let us play alts this expac without feeling the need to log in every day to keep up with them.

If you think there is a content problem then I’m sorry to say it but that’s a YOU issue.
