I assumed most people use VPN for streaming/gaming. I’m not sure how it affects gaming.
I was able to buy a carton of Marlboros for $20 just over 20 years ago. The taxes imposed now are just insane with a pack being almost $10!*#€ It’s no small feat to quit, Kudos!
I decided that the fire safe (carpet glue) wasn’t for me a long time ago, and now we pay about $8 a carton. No chemicals and free of the state taxes. I’m not saying to start again, but the financial part can be beat.
I could never wrap my mind around how much free info people give these big corporations. I will never give blizz my phone number. Stop just giving away your information.
Did you know that everyone in the nation had a phone book dropped on their doorstep about once every other year for decades?
In that book contained most American’s names, and physical addresses, along with their phone number. People had to pay money to not be included in the book. Then came Facebook, where there became a face to connect to the name/number.
Can you imagine the response when your Neuralink gets hacked, and you pee yourself Infront of the hot person you just met for a first date…
I feel like I’m at that good place where I won’t smoke a cigarette but even if I did I don’t think I’d instantly go back to it like I did the eight or so previous times I tried to quit. Powering through the suck was difficult, but it actually helped that I wasn’t working and legit did not have the funds. I came out of it after a couple weeks or months with no cravings. I imagine it’s kind of the same principal that a lot of addicts get clean in prison because there’s just no access so they’re forced. There was just no money, and somehow I made it out the other side.
And I started just smoking one every now and then. Cloves, too, which they don’t allow anymore. Didn’t become a menthol pack a day smoker until years later. It’s insidious like that.
$8 dollars a carton has me curious though, how on earth do you do that? Get them off a reservation or something?
in the 20 years I’ve been doing business with blizz, they have not once called me.
but you do you.
I never had my name in one, i have never had a phone in my name.
Powermatic2 is the electric rolling machine we use. The initial cost was amortized over about 6 months for my head math🤓. We’ve had it for about 2 years now, and it’s still working fine.
A pound of tobacco makes 600 cigarettes for $15 after shipping on large orders. Shipping 1 bag or 10 is the same price, so we order in bulk. $.025 each.
The tubes come in packs of 1,000 for $20.71 or $.02 each.
After doing the math I guess it’s closer to $8.50 a carton.
Did they discontinue the physical authenticator? Mine died so i chose cellphone app.
Use bluestacks.
You don’t specifically need a cellphone. Pretty sure you can put the app on any Android device, including tablets. Just have to have WiFi to connect to the internet, obviously.
Last I knew it takes a valid non-pre paid phone number to work.
Maybe that has changed since this started where none of the internet tricks worked, like bluestacks.
I see we’re vibing…
I don’t use one because it makes me ill (all the scrolling really gets me.) And I know a handful of other people who don’t use it due to addiction. It’s not that far fetched that a fair number of people still don’t have a smartphone.
That doesn’t work.
Her name is Tabitha, and she gets very annoyed when you make her wait to connect the call. She wants to get back to the neighborhood line.
I think it is highly irresponsible to not have a cell phone.
Land lines serve no purpose. They’re not more resilient, they’re not cheaper, they’re dramatically less versatile. In a severe outage, the land lines are going to be the last thing anyone in your region is going to be concerned with getting operational, whereas the cell network will be the first.
You’re entirely out of contact with emergency services when out of the house. It makes you vulnerable, it makes the people around you more vulnerable. Human density and wealth disparity has gone off the charts. It’s not 1962 anymore. We live in a different time. The thing keeping the highwaymen in check these days is the fact everyone has an emergency radio. If you go bragging about your ludditism to the wrong people, you’re making yourself a prime target. 24/7 news makes it seem like we live in dangerous times, but the actual rates of crime have cratered to near zero compared to the past. You’re probably still alive because of those cell phones. If we were living in these economic conditions with this population density with 1930s technology, the murder rates would be astronomical.
And another point to the irresponsibility is the main point of your post. Blizzard doesn’t want you to have 2FA because that’s just a fun thing they like to do. It is a critical necessity because we are at cyber war with like 15 other countries. Activision is a huge economic player and enemy nation hacking groups target them to try and cause as much economic harm as humanly possible. Whining about 2FA is like whining about a plate carrier while in a shootout.
The irony of your post, is most of what you described is why I have agoraphobia. I don’t need a cell phone because I don’t even leave my house
